I was just wondering if anyone here has ever built anything using products from 80/20 Inc.?

It looks like once you become familiar with their products the only limitation is your imagination.

i literally watched the first video, then was like, WOW i could build my own sliding bed rack.

I have worked with it a ton. I don’t know how many thousands of pieces I’ve made with it. It is expensive, especially the corner fittings and nuts. It is cool, the hole in the center is the drill size to tap a 1/4”-20 thread. You can cut it with a wood cutting chop saw with a carbide tipped metal cutting blade. They make it in several sizes as well like 1/2”x1, 2”x1, 1”x1”, and then all sorts of options of which slots are open or solid.

It is aluminum and it is soft. If you want to a bed slide or something cantilevered like that you’ll want to design some structure into it.

My Truck bed boat lift was made from this stuff. Clever design, but the joints loosened up overtime with mild off-road use. Was a lot of maintenance.

80/20 states the 2-degree draft designed into the parts is a locking mechanism. In our experience it did not work. Loctite everything.
