Hell, if thats the worst thing you can find wrong with the truck I think you are doing good!TwinStick wrote: ↑Thu Jan 03, 2019 3:41 pm
So far, my biggest complaint, which was my WTF moment, is : It seems all the new trucks, regardless of brand, have tailgates that do not open all the way and are not level/even with the bed. There are fixes for the Fords & Dodges but not mine. Mine opens about 88* instead of 90*. When I remove the cables & put a level on the tailgate & hold it level, it is still about 1/8" higher than the tailgate !!! So, when cables are on & you lay something long in the bed, it touches just the very end of tailgate & does not touch the bed until the wheel wells ! I mean REALLY, HTF does that happen ? Were 2 engineers just sitting around when 1 said " hey, I have an idea, lets take something that has worked fine for 100 years & totally fuck it up, for no reason in particular " ? Maybe they saved 1/2" of cable. Seriously, I can think of no logical reason for them to do that.

If I were him, I would take it back to the dealer to fix it - and give them a good reaming !!!!! Don't hold back!

"Ok, this is going to sound weird, I recently bought a red 2019 ZR2 diesel. It's a honey of a truck; it's quiet, smooth, and pulls my TT almost like a fullsize. However, recently the Power Wagons have really been catching my eye. I can't believe I'm asking this, my wife is going to have a fit, but would you guys trade your ZR2 diesel straight across for a new Power Wagon? There's nothing wrong with the ZR2 but I can't help it, the Power Wagons just look so good to me. What would you guys do? Help me out please!"

The ZR2 is a great little truck I can't wait to see some pics, I bet the hardest thing to adjust to will be the small size other than that I think you made a wise choice. Just don't forget to pull that airbag fuse before you go off road!

Re: ZR2 diesel test drive & test tow
He wants to run bigger tires now.
"OK, I think you guys have me talked down from the ledge. This ZR2 is pretty great and I'm totally happy with it. Last question, what originally got me interested in the Power Wagon was the giant tires some guys run. What's the biggest tire I can fit under my ZR2? I've heard some conflicting recommendations, some guys say 35 and some say 315. I was kind of thinking 37's would look cool or maybe 40's with a little trimming. Anyone gone that big?"
