Ah. Lake Wallenpaupack area. I camp near there at a place called Keen Lake. It's a few towns away on Rt 6.TwinStick wrote:Went to Honesdale Pa. area.
No, never figured out anything with the outlet.

I was driving a little harder on the way down. 70-80 vs 65-70 on the way home. Both times measured at the halfway point. That is with the factory full syn fluid. Not a fan. Getting me one of these soon, like tomorrow: http://mag-hytec.com/store/index.php?ma ... ucts_id=27 and I am gonna fill it with this: http://www.amsoil.com/shop/by-product/g ... e=FGRQT-EA
The long life Amsoil is designed with a different chemical additive compound than the Severe Gear oil. The long life gear oil is designed for big rigs, heavy farm equipment, & construction/ excavation equipment. The ring gear sets & carriers are much much larger on big rigs, and hence, have far bigger sumps & much higher capacities. As a consequence, their overall temps remain well below the magic shearing (onset oxidation & acidic conversion) temp of the oil. Their lubricity properties are conserved much longer, and thus, the additives are less aggressive in heat amelioration than the Severe Gear. The long life is designed as a low temp, high mileage (500K), fluid. The severe gear is what I'd run, it's only about $3-$5 more/qt and can go 100k miles or 2yrs between changes.TwinStick wrote:I'll be honest, I am sick & f-ing tired of changing gear lube. I figure if that shit is good for a 1/2 million miles in a semi truck, it should last longer than 12k in my truck pulling a f-ing 3500 lb camper. When the oil was $8 a qt it was no big deal but now some of that shit is $30 a qt. http://mag-hytec.com/store/index.php?ma ... ucts_id=57
I was gonna use that stuff, but $30 a qt ? NOT. It actually ran 10* cooler than the Amsoil. http://www.fourwheeler.com/how-to/trans ... wing-axle/
It was $18 a qt last i checked & now it doubled in price.
