How Hot Was It?

Somewhere on here there is a thread about temperatures encountered by forum members, but I can't find it. Just got back from southern Arizona and encountered 128F in the desert between Yuma and Gila Bend, on the afternoon of 8/31. Got this while driving down a dirt road at 15-20mph and thought it was an aberration, but checked my intake air temp on the Edge Evo gauge pod and IAT showed 165F while moving. Had a great time, going back next weekend for three days.

Sounds about right!
Yesterday in the morning we were driving west on I-8 around Dateland and it was 102F, started raining pretty hard, and it stayed at 102, hit 107 before lunch.

It all hit the ground and started puddling. We made a pit stop in Dateland, were in the minimart about 20 minutes, still raining when we left. Humidity was nasty. Worst I have seen was about five years ago on the east side of Yuma, first week in September. It was 118F and started raining cats and dogs mid-afternoon and continued for about five hours with lots of thunder and lightning. River rats on the Colorado couldn't get their boats out of the river fast enough and some trucks flooded on the launch ramps trying to get their boats out. About fifteen years ago we were in the Imperial Valley and it was 108F, started pouring with lots of lightning and we were out in the middle of it with no place to go and a long walk back to the truck. Lightning scared the crap out of me that time. Biggest problem, depending on where you are, is flash flooding. If you are in the wrong place, they'll never find your body. It's monsoon season, gotta love it.

Here, it snows, it melts & repeats. It doesn't usually take your life, your wife, your kids, your house or vehicle with it. Compared to flash floods, 128* heat, mudslides, tornado's, hurricane's, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, deadly spiders/snakes, etc... , snow doesn't sound so bad anymore. lol

Holy. I couldn't imagine that temp. In my world temp goes down down down. Seeing 90° is a massive heatwave here. And is nearly unbearable.
