Got me thinking of a "portal wagon" now! Lol, that would be sick.

Damn! That's definitely nice... but I don't see it being great for hauling anything.

Portals are badass. I thought about doing them on my Hazzard Wagon. But in the end the trade off between the clearance and the added torque on the suspension and drivetrain was not worth the effort. After doing the UA in my truck I know I made the right choice. Portals are hard on equipment!

Totally agree! I am going to keep my PW drivetrain mostly stock to represent (except rear axle will be changed at some point to 11.5 to get lower gears still stock Dodge). Otherwise just body and suspension mods. At least that's the plan.

I would imagine it would magnify axle hop big time during acceleration.

Question ... Can we keep the factory locker in the rear when switching to an 11.5 rear? What modifications would need to be made to the rear axle for that to be?

No. Different carriers. But the locker out of a brand new PW would fit in there. I'd say aftermarket is your best bet there. Probably cheeper and more reliable anyhow
