Not really a cool pic but this last weekend I got rear ended in Kentucky by a car while coming home from a riding trip with a few friends. Messed everything up pretty good. Power Wagon took a good lick but it still ran and drove perfectly fine so I ended up driving it around down there and then back home 650 miles with no issues other than the exhaust rubbing on the heat shield for the spare tire. Trailer got totaled as well as 1 quad, a Razr UTV. My quad had a center cap break off and a friends bike got about $400 worth of damage. Wagon got a ruined bumper, scratched up tail gate, receiver hitch got bent and twisted back underneath the truck and shoved into spare which shoved the heat shield into the exhaust. Don't think it touched the frame but it's hard to tell. Insurance should be coming to look at it sometime this week. Nobody was hurt with us, the driver of the car broke his sternum. Here's some pics. I'm wondering if you can even get a replacement receiver hitch from dodge like the one that is on it or will I have to replace it with a chitty Reese? Any ideas? Also thinking I'm lucky I went with 45s out the back instead of straights, since they would have probably got mangled when the trailer slammed forward.

Speed limit was 55, and he was probably doing every bit of that, if not 60. Yea it sucks right now but after everything is done we'll have a new better trailer and I'll have everything fixed on the truck and then some. I'm still wondering how they are gunna go about fixing that hitch, since it's a giant tube welded through the frame rails. I'd almost bet they'll have to put a new frame on if I want to keep the factory hitch.

RAM4ROKS wrote:SOOOO... after Saturday's wheeling, I don't think I wanna go out again until I get my lift and tires on- I had lots of belly scraping culminating in this stuck! I opted to go over a rock that was a little too tall, in probably the easiest section of the whole trail, lol!

Doesn't look too bad at first glance:
Image

But, it IS!!! All the weight of the truck is on the skidplates! (glad they're beefy!) You could actually push down on the front and rear bumpers and move the truck like a see-saw!:
Image

As you can see, the passenger rear tire is dangling above the ground:
Image

As is the driver's front tire:
Image

You'd think two tires off the ground isn't a big deal since it's locked front and rear BUT, when the remaining two tires are barely touching the ground, there's not much traction to be had! I just sat there spinning all four tires! Had to pull cable to get off the rock! Here's the scrapes I left behind, DOH!!!:
Image

That makes two trips in a row where I got stuck on something where I wouldn't have been stuck if I had my tires and lift on!
I love those rock rails did you make them yourself that's my next serious off-road mod that I really need to do especially for the planned trips in the spring!! Winter project for sure.

Tough enough for sliding and pivoting. They held up on my rig on a few drops as well but as many on the board here say that because of their mount points they may not do so well on a full weight compressed drop.

I have White Knuckle Offroad sliders with extra beef version at .188 DOM and have beat on them quite a bit and they are holding up great.

Nice that's what I like to hear the local fab guy tells me he can build a set for cheaper possibly though and some that will work with my long arm lift so I may have to go that route

Just got it today 09 with 180K kms on it. Needs a few minor things like fog light lenses and need to find a remote for the winch. It'll be a big brother to my SASed 02 Dakota QC.
