Love the new look of the PW for 2017. It now looks like a fresher truck and less like a Paw Paw truck LOL! Ive always admired the PW but the new look, inside and out, along with the few other enhancements is what has finally pushed me off the fence to make the investment and buy one next year. I cant wait.
It'll grow on people who might not like it now.
They took the look from the Rebel, well partly cause the Rebel is selling very well. It also makes sense to go with a family resemblance to the off road biased Rebel and use that to differentiate the PW in the HD line. Personally, I love it.

Took a 3-day camping trip to some beautiful country in the Old Woman Mountains. The truck did great on some of the old mining trails and exploring General Patton's training grounds. Even made a furry new friend! I love seeing creatures in the wild, not a fan of zoos, especially when they've likely never seen a human being in their life. This guy crawled out of his hole and stared at me and my Heeler for 20 minutes as we creeped closer and closer until I was 5 feet away and managed to snap a few pictures (with a .45 in the other hand, not my first encounter with one of these fearless little guys). Definitely a weekend to remember. Wish I could upload higher quality pics on here!

Yes, they are afraid of nothing and will turn and fight when chased. They seem to have no natural predators, aside from humans, even cougars usually steer clear of them as they are not an easy meal. But this one didn't seem to mind sharing the wash with me for a night.

I have a 2014 Laramie and ever since I bought it new an issue I had was the sun glare on the hood when climbing hills or just when the sun is low in the sky and driving toward it . I checked into getting the decal that is on the SLT but Ram is pretty proud of it. ($500.00) . I had decided just to live with the glare then in June we had real severe hail storm that damaged the siding and roof of my house.( The PW was spared due to being parked by a tree). A couple of weeks ago I was getting my house re-roofed when the roofing contractors had some shingles get away from them. And one of the shingles found its way to the hood and drivers side fender on the PW. The contractor had to pay for new paint on both. Since this happened I figured heck here is a way to get rid of the hood glare. So I designed some Power wagon graphics and went to the body shop. This is the final product. I wanted Power Wagon to be subtle but unique . This is semi gloss black paint . the PW decals were applied first then the black sprayed over them. Then the PW decal was removed to expose the original color paint( Granite crystal ) then semi gloss clear was sprayed over it all. I am really pleased with how it turned out. Even though it looks like a decal ( to me anyway ) it is all painted on.

Ran into some not-typical August weather going over Engineer Pass near Ouray, CO today.

Cool pics! How does a big, honkin Power Wagon do over Engineer Pass?

Not bad at all. Have to pick the right lines on some of the ledges early on. I think I only had to backup on 3 switchbacks all the way up.

Thats great to hear. Ive only ever been up Engineer Pass once. I was a kid and we were in a Wrangler. We plan on going next summer. We were going to take the wife's Disco Sport as it will handle some gnarly stuff and I'll have better, tougher tires on it by then. But if I end up deciding on a Power Wagon, we might take it instead. I dont mind having to back it up in the switchbacks a few times.

The Power Wagon handles everything up in this area pretty easily. Only trail I never took the wagon on was Black Bear. Handled Imogene easily, but I wouldn't recommend this for anyone that is not very experienced. It's a big beast for those switchbacks, especially if you're by yourself. Engineer should be no problem.

Yeah, Black Bear and Poughkeepsie are two I would not try in a PW.

We'll probably do the following route...Corkscrew, to California, to Engineer and loop back around on Cinnamon.

1 week and $320 later, and I've got a shiny new steel driveshaft. It's definitely beefier than the aluminum one. It was a nice workout maneuvering it into place. The shop used the OEM flanges. Tomorrow I'll take it out and see how it drives.
