Seen this the other day. Wonder what the wheel base will be?

This has potential as a great little exploring rig, but I can't see it being much of a "truck". If it is based off of the new Wrangler platform it is going to have Dana 44 or equivalent axles, and will likely carry less cargo than even a Power Wagon does.

For the price they would be asking I would be more inclined to get a Rapturd with the 3.5L eco boost and a ten speed. The 5.0 version is enticing as well. At a minimum it has some form of sport and finesse to it. That Jeep PU just doesn't do it for me. The new PW is out too and I fear soon I will be a full fledged curmudgeon.

Jeep just doesn't understand what an enthusiast is, or how to satisfy them. Just look at the new Grand Cherokee it rides like a tank and has very poor ground clearance, no articulation and it doesn't even deserve the Jeep badge IMHO. Even my wife says why buy a new GK it isn't even really a Jeep anymore. I suspect the Wrangler platform will soon go full independent air ride suspension with zero wheel travel or articulation too.

We are also told that the new 10-speed automatic transmission that will be found in the 2016 3.5L V6 EcoBoost Raptor will be the same transmission utilized in the V8 Raptor, whether it goes on sale as a 2017 model year, or 2018.

After owning an '08 rubicon, there's no way I'd ever buy a new jeep again. I want a jeep pickup, I'll buy an old J truck and do a motor and axles, and have something way more capable and less "nanny" to enjoy.

I'm in the same boat, we had a 2013 4 door wrangler for a year, I almost wrecked it one day when I veered off a sharp shoulder. I went to ease back on the road and it suddenly went stupid with traction control and I was expecting it to pull back on the road when the tires grabbed the lip but it did something completely different. Next thing I know, it jumps up on the road and it felt like the right side only braked, now the tires are barking and I'm headed back towards the ditch thinking it's about to flip. It throws me back off the shoulder and I just let off of everything and tried to steer it in a straight line. Once it settled straight, I stopped and slowly got back on the road. Good thing no other cars were around. I made up my mind right then to sell it.

If you want a Jeep truck, this is where its at... :D 1983 with a Chevy 305

I only do what the majority of the 4 voices in my head tell me to. In most cases, I ignore two of them because one doesn't speak English, and I suspect the other is talking to someone else.

I loved mine :wtf: It was fun as hell to mod with such a huge aftermarket but I always wished it was a PW because I loved the size of my old ram. I think the new jeep truck could be awesome if its anything close to the AEV brute :duel:

If I start listing Mods I would have to change the list daily

I don't expect the new Jeep Truck to rival the Brute, but I think the potential here is amazing if they don't screw it up. I'm really curious to see what they bring to the market. A four door Rubicon with a small truck bed could be a handy little vehicle to have if you didn't need a Power Wagon but wanted a pinch more capability than a Wrangler itself.
