Cherokee

Post by Throttle 8 » Thu Apr 09, 2015 6:17 pm

I just sold my 2011 Ford Taurus SHO, and bought my wife a new fully loaded 2015 Jeep Cherokee Limited (Active Drive 2). I went with the Limited over the Trailhawk because if I have any serious offroading to do I will take the Wagon. I did want the Active Drive 2 for the low range, even though it will probably hardly ever get used. (You can't buy a Jeep without a half decent 4wd system as that would be sacralidge!). The SHO had a great powertrain in it, but I never warmed up to the Blue Oval, and the Ford dealerships never treated me half as well as my local Dodge Dealer. Also, The General (wife) LOVES the Jeep; any you know what they say------Happy Wife-Makes my life Less Miserable!

Looks good! I'm seeing lots of them on the road now too! I had a 1978 full size Cherokee and a 1994 XJ. Wheeled the crap out of both of them!

A couple of people at work have the Cherokee and love it. I have a '13 GC Trailhawk. Love it. My wife loves it too. I had one Cherokee, one Liberty, and 4 CG's as second vehicles. Each has been great. :D Hopefully, your's will be too. ;)

They are very nicely done on the inside. My wife likes it because they are a little higher than a car, and it has a hatch in the back. I've never figured out why women love hatches so much. But I've never figured women out in general so I guess it will be one of life's eternal mysteries!

I got the shock of a lifetime when my Wife said she wanted to test drive a Juke Nissimo RS. We did and it is not that bad and she liked it. She hated the new 2015 version of her 2001 Grand Cherokee. Nothing else was even a consideration as she hated all the Jeep products, yes even the Rubicon.

Hell- my wife wants to trade her Honda Pilot in on a Rubicon (I'm a lucky man). Once the boat is paid for I see a new Rubicon sitting next to the truck.

Bringing an old thread back to life. I was bored last night and cruising the interweb and stumbled upon this. I know it's not a Power Wagon, but I thought this was kind of a cool setup for the Cherokee. http://www.rocky-road.com/jeep-cherokee-kl.html

Nice looking vehicle. I wish you the best of luck with it. My wife wanted one too, until our Dodge dealer mechanic said to us "don't ever buy one of those, we have put 9 transmissions in them already & that is the 10th sitting there in the shop." I sure do like the trailhawk version though & so does the wife. We are leaning towards a Subaru Outback for her next vehicle. We will see what happens.

The real bummer is they only did the Jeep Grand Cherokee for two years in the Trail Hawk setup. That was sweet!

My wife had 4 door Wrangler, now she's in a Grand Cherokee and wants another Wrangler, all this in 2.5 years! I'm going to find her an older Wrangler for when she wants to ride in one, it appears to be a seasonal thing. Hahaa

I only do what the majority of the 4 voices in my head tell me to. In most cases, I ignore two of them because one doesn't speak English, and I suspect the other is talking to someone else.

That seemed like a mistake to me, I thought it fit a good need. I'm thinking in a few years a JGC would be a good daily driver, and I can save the truck for truck duties. I've always wanted a JGC, but I need to have a truck.

We've done 2 cross country trips with our GC. Each trip was about 6,000 to 8,000 miles round trip. And tow it behind our motorhome. It's got about 10,000 miles behind the motorhome. It's been great with zero problems other then the screwed up fuel pump relay recall that was installed. The relay that was installed for the recall was bad.
