Plenty of people here run Cooper Tire's, however we stopped buying them in our company trucks due to blow-outs...but we're a bit hard on shit! Not to mention probably overloaded!

What are your thoughts on the Cooper Discoverer M/T? They seem to have the same tread pattern as the Toyos but much cheaper. Any info on them?
I have no experience with the Coopers, so no real intelligent comments. I really like the Toyos in both MT and AT, and currently have AT-IIs on the PW and the Tundra. I just put a set of lightly used Nitto Trail Grapplers on the old GMC and I like them for that truck. The important thing to me on both the PW and the GMC is that the Toyos and this particular set of Nittos are Load Range E. Don't know if the Coopers are LR-E, but if not, I would not use them. My PW is always loaded with too much stuff, and the GMC is often overloaded with construction materials. The thing that originally made me suck it up and spend the money on my first set of Toyos was the recommendation from KORE that LR-E tires would minimize the chance of death wobble on the PW. I think if I couldn't find or afford the Toyos, I'd go with Nittos. Lots of guys on here who swear by both tires.

I ran the Cooper MT' LR D for about 32,000 miles. Liked them alot. With 20 lbs in them, they flexed nicely over rock in Moab. They went good in the mud too. Had no problems with them on the road. On the PW now is a set of Toyo MT's LR E with about 25,000 miles. At 20 lbs. There is not much flex in the side wall. Off-road performance wise. About the same as the Coopers. The Coopers are not as wide as the Toyo's. Think the 12.5 Toyo is closer to a 13, 13.5. The problems I had with the Toyo's. When new, it was scarily pulling a camper. Because the rear of the truck would slide around. Had to put about 5,000 miles on them until it quit doing it. Mike reported the same problem with his PW too. Last year at Rausch Creek. Put a hole in the sidewall on one tire. The hole was big enough to put my hand through it. :jawdrop: That was on a trail with few rocks on it too.
