Better not use that thing on a hill... or its gonna be a ski trip for your truck if not worse. Better get one with crampons.

A base with teeth instead of a ski would be more useful.
I'm still thinking about the hilift base I made. My original idea was to put four points on it but got lazy and left it as a channel:

That will work fine just the way it is. If you really want to, it would be easy enough to make shark teeth in the channel with an angle grinder/cutoff wheel.

yup, it's used mostly in sandy and soft applications where a normal jack would sink into the ground (much more dangerous).

I have been stuck on a hill and used a jack to keep my sheet metal out of trees, and a few other times like steep washed out roads. I don't really like using a jack on a hill but sometimes it's the only option. I'm not saying this thing is useless I just wanted to point out that a sled isn't my first choice when it comes to something I want to stay where I put it and not spit out.

Cool. I look at is a yet another arrow to be carried in the recovery quiver. Not "Choose One".
Enjoy this life, cause it's all we're getting.
