This weekend was the first time I’ve used mine and I’ve had it just over a year. Kept the trees from taking out the fence and falling in the street. Also pulled three stumps with it as well. Came in handy for sure.

Wen't to Joshua Tree last week to do some rock climbing with some buddies. My plan was to cut through Berdoo Canyon Road to Geology Tour road and make a loop through the park but the forest service gated Berdoo Canyon. It was a super bloom down there so tons of flowers n tourists. Not much of em 4x4 so that was good.

I tried adding some camouflage to my government issue A-pillar spotlights, attempting to make them look a little more off-roady. Not sure how I feel about it yet.

Re: Power Wagon Picture Thread
Guess who's getting a new rear end!
Been getting more diff noise than usual from the back under acceleration, especially 30-50mph. Local shop I have oil changes done at noted a leaking pinion seal again - was replaced last year by my buddy's shop. Had them take a look at it again while I was out on a 10-day training cycle - bearings are toast. Got the parts on order slow-boat, had them button everything up for now. Got another week of training in MT coming up, parts will be in by then and i'll have 'em knock it out while i'm out on snow.

New toy... Seek ShotPRO.

Almost had a house fire a few weeks ago when a breaker failed. Grabbed the cheapo FLIR (TG165) from work to chase down that issue and confirm the fix. Had a FLIR C3 in my shopping cart for a while, after using the TG165 and comparing specs on the FLIR and Seek units, the Seek turns out to be a much better unit for about the same price. The C3 and TG165 both use the same 80x60 sensor. ShotPro's got 320x240 sensor, 50°FoV, optical camera with a nice "fusion" mode, twice the battery life, and built-in flashlight.

With the electrical/plumbing issues in this house, probably doing in-floor heat with remodels, and equipment work I do... money well spent imo. Great diagnostic tool.

At the power plant. We used thermocameras all the time to track down bad grounds, overloaded circuits, bad insulation, leaking valves, etc. Our good camera was $40,000.

Truck now has internet anywhere it's parked. Definitely waited too long to buy that Hughes kit...

Rolled over 200k this weekend.

Re: Power Wagon Picture Thread
Pulled coax from the cab into the bed. Makes it easy to hook up the dish/radio with fewer connections.
Set it up in the truck a few times this summer, figured out an arrangement to pull the dish as close into the bed as possible to minimize wind jerking it out of alignment (0.5° to Echostar 19...) but still keeping it high enough to not have people/vehicles in front of it.
Terminal between rear window and back seat, ps/inverter/power pack shoved in wherever it'll fit in the cab.

The hoops i'll jump through just to have wifi on the shitter.

I'll be back up here in a few days for a level-1/rescue/level-2 training cycle.
Hopefully next week will be warmer than this weekend was. Snotel 1/2mi from the trailhead read an overnight low of -24°F.
