2018 Power Wagon fuel pump

Post by firngn » Fri Oct 09, 2020 1:32 pm

I have a 2018 Mojave Sand Power Wagon. It just broke down last night for the third time with a fuel issue. The first time fuel pump was replaced and also found a loose ground that was probably the problem. second time the fuel pump was bad and replaced. currently waiting word from the dealer as to what the issue is this time. The truck only has 15,600 miles on it and only 1000 miles since the last fuel pump was installed. Anyone else having fuel pump issues? I do have a Fourwheel pop up camper on the truck and have been Offroad several times in it.

it sounds like your not sure its the pumps fault at this point. loose ground the first time but dealer didnt realize that until after they changed the pump ? now something is acting up again only after the dealer had their hands on it. the first pump may of been just fine but replaced because of misdiagnosis. hard to say whats going on the second time. we need more info. not speculation , assumtion , guesses or theory. im not sure if these trucks have denso pumps or something else. if denso, theyre as good as it gets and can go 300k in cars. i wouldnt expect that in a truck but i cant imagine needing to mess with the pump before 150k

It was a fuel pump again replaced at the dealer. They are giving me no reason for the pump failing.

My truck was towed to the dealer and they diagnosed a bad fuel pump and they replaced it. Was told that fuel pumps are backordered nationwide so they had it for a full week. So now with the fuel pump being replaced for the third time and no other info being given as to what might be causing it.

Makes you wonder that there is a batch of bad fuel pumps sitting on shelves somewhere.

Just an update. After going through 5 fuel pumps on this truck and the dealership running an entire new wiring harness as well as new fuel pump the last time I'm turning it back in to FCA as a lemon.
