Grind/rub on Acceleration

Recently I’ve noticed a grinding or rubbing sound coming from the left front wheel area when accelerating from a stop. It only lasts for a second or two. It doesn’t do it when I take off gently, but moderate input will cause it. Any ideas?

Do you have an exhaust part near to anything? I get this from my exhaust being too close to a crossmember

I hope not cause my exhaust is stock. The only current mod to the truck is AEV wheels w/ 35 inch Toyo MTs. Thought is might be the tread but it sure sounds like it’s coming from the front?

I’ve been paying closer attention to the sound recently and it almost reminds me of an ABS or traction control sound. Is there anyway my 35s could cause this. I adjusted for size with the procal and adjusted TPMS threshold with an autel programmer. Anyway a sensor could be causing the sound?

I noticed this recently on my 2018 on a moderate to hard take off from a stoplight. I have the stock 33” duratracs still. It sounded to me like a traction control type sound. I would turn off traction control and see if it does it again. I wasn’t too concerned because I attributed to that, but it was something that I noticed and thought was odd.

Is it the sound that comes from under the dash when the limited slip/ abs engages like when in mid?

I am getting some issues on my 2018 now as well, over the last week or so. At times even turning it feels like the LSD is sticking.( but most times not at all) But I also got a nasty clang, clang pulling away from a stop sign yesterday and a buzzing under the dash from the traction control.

I’m currently out of town for a couple weeks but I’ll try disabling TC when I get home and see if it still does it. If so, custom tuning may be in my future....

Let us know what you end up figuring out. Im curious to know if that fixes your problem. I’m gonna take mine out and see if I can get it to act up again.

What did you attribute the clang to? I can’t say that I’ve noticed mine do that at all.

I've been in contact with FordyceCreekTrail, his issue is different than the rest of the posts in this thread. I believe he has a locker bypass that needs to be readjusted. We'll see what he says after following the adjustment procedure in the instructions. I test each unit and set the basic adjustment but it really needs to be calibrated to the truck it's installed on. I don't know if that was done on his truck. The buzzing was caused by a relay on the threshold of engagement and the clang was probably due to a partial locker engagement. He pulled the fuse for now until he has a chance to check the adjustment. If it turns out to be a faulty component in the control box, I'll repair or replace it free of charge.

Sorry guys forgot about this post. Yes, my issues was lockers engaging randomly at speed. I had moisture in the locker over ride box. So I moved it. Will also try to seal it better.
