Re: New to the registry
I'm in Upper Salford, near Spring Mtn / Perkiomenville area. Originally a Plymouth Meeting boy. I have been stalking the registry for a bit. So far the truck has only been off the road in some trails up near Centralia and on the beach around Avon on Hatteras. I've been trying to get it a little bit more trail worthy to do something like Rausch Creek. Now that it is where I want it lift and tires wise, I need to get some rocker protection.

You're not too far, relatively speaking. You may be a little closer to Rausch than me!SimonandSimonBeast wrote: ↑Fri Nov 22, 2019 9:54 amHi Aceman,

So you saw my vids. Cool. Join us this June for our next trip. Based on the Event created by Stephanie in the Facebook Power Wagon Registry group, there's like 50 supposedly coming! Also check the get together in this forum for the trip.

Re: New to the registry
Thanks Aceman. That is something I am def interested in. Would be awesome to hit Rausch with a bunch of PW brethren. June will give me some time to get some WKO on this thing. I swear I live in PW country living a little further out where I am. I see a few nice PW regularly commuting around here in the Northwestern Montgomery County hills. I guess I need to breakdown and get a Facebook acct. I am a long holdout on that. I'm on Instagram and have a fledgling/amateur/lame YouTube channel. If you see a vid with a PW parked on the fissure on the Graffiti Highway, that's my dumbass. Thanks for all the welcome folks!

Hey, John, welcome to the forum!
I'm down the Pike (Sumneytown, that is) in North Wales. My '05 sits more than it drives, but I get around.
You have a great list of mods. I'm interested in your exhaust. I've wondered if Pypes does something with acceptable clearance for offroading.
I'm sure we'll run into each other sometime! If not, I'll see you at Rausch Creek!

Re: New to the registry
Hey Fire Rescue,
Haha, have a little dog hair in my back seat too. Comes with the territory. Nice mods list.
I can't take credit for the Pypes. Whoever owned it before me put it on there. I did everything else. The Violator it a flow through design. It is loud as **** when I get on it, but reasonable when cruising. They make another flow through that is milder. They both have the same flow. I don't know about the clearance and routing on a 3rd gen. The way mine it routed on my 4th gen it is really tucked up in there and the tailpipe comes out behind the right rear tire really streamlined up near the body with a level (to the ground) taper opening. Really up about as high as it could be without cutting it.
If I could figure out how to do attachments on this site I would send some pics. Still no success there.
Pypes is in the warehouse across from Hatfield Meats. You could probably stop in there and check out what they have.
Rgs,
John

Re: New to the registrey
Here's my PW on the Graffiti Highway this past Sunday. Had to brave a sudden snow storm on the way there. Part of Rte 61 was shut down by State Police, people sliding off the road. Brought the quads up for the kids to blast around on.

Re: New to the registrey
Some more pics the day I put 37 x 13.5 on there on Raceline 17 x 9 x 20 mm offset. I did a little work to the rear of the front fender well and pinch weld. I cut off some of the pinch weld from behind the plastic fender well without butchering the plastic. I used a small Milwaukee Hacksaw to get in there. I only cut off the big nub on the fender flare with a Dremel cut off wheel. I then heated the plastic fender well with a torch and pushed it back with a large metal spoon back toward the freshly cut pinch weld and held it until it cooled. No rub on the fender and I still have plastic in place to keep debris out of there.

Hey can you take some pics of that? Sounds like what I want to do. I need to trim for my 37x13.50s but I haven't done it yet and the wife is reaching critical mass on the sound it makes... Pics coming when I get back home today. I have to take the wheels off to put the black center caps on that I was supposed to get. While I have a front tire off I will try to get closer pics. I kept the cut off pieces just for that purpose.

Look for something under wheels and tires discussion soon. I think it falls under that topic as it is a matter of tire/wheel fitment.TankerZak wrote:Hey can you take some pics of that? Re: New to the registrey
Here's some pics. Like I said this Pypes Violator was installed by the previous owner. Looks like some inventive custom mounting done here, but it is up tight. Looks like some stock hangers not used. A custom hanger at one point attached to the frame. The rear most hanger appears to be makeshift where two rubber isolators were connected together (they used a hitch pin that was coming apart and I replaced with a proper grade 8 bolt, lock nut and washers). This makeshift double isolator makes the perfect reach to connect the tailpipe hanger to the frame hanger to keep that tailpipe real close to the body. Oh, well, it all seems to be solid, tucked up and quiet. Here are the pics...FirerescuePW wrote:Hey, John, welcome to the forum!
