2018 Power Wagon

Post by Wagon9027 » Thu Nov 22, 2018 5:45 pm

Hello. I'm a not so new owner but anyway, I love this truck a LOT! I've seen it first on an old Dodge brochure when I was a lot younger well back I couldn't barely afford a notebook computer so fast forward 2018 I'm a happy owner of a 2018 Ram 2500 Power Wagon! This truck grabs attention and has a commanding feel of the road its like I'm in huge Tonka truck lol.

This really isn't my first Ram, I've had 2 in a matter of 2 years. First was well my first truck which was a 2016 Ram 2500 Tradesman 6.4 HEMI, back then I just needed a near-bare bones modern truck because I just wasn't going to spend money repairing an old or pre-owned vehicle for a daily driver it has to be reliable and capable if needed be. I love that truck and sometimes I still miss it, drove it from Texas to New Jersey it was a blast and rode nicely but wasn't comfortable enough and so my second truck was a Black Pearl Coat 2017 Power Wagon with Luxury Package. I knew I wanted that truck so I drove it home after negotiating with my dealer, I love it and drove it with big smile everyday to work. My plan was to take it to Moab but it never happened, I did got 35s in it and some new accessories which all got transferred to my 2018 truck.

My idea was if I'm keeping this truck it better have the features and color I want, I wanted Omaha Orange but Ram won't do it unless they get 10 orders so I went with Maximum Steel. I love how this truck has been so far, I installed cold air intake, a grill guard because I don't like others parking too close to it.

My goal with this truck is for it to be a reliable daily driver and great vacation vehicle. I got it optioned with Luxury Package, no sunroof, UConnect 4C 8.4 Nav, decal delete package (I've since put Laramie PW tailgate badge on it), factory bed liner among other things. I wish I got it with carpet delete because I prefer vinyl floor. My plan is to keep it mostly stock and slowly modify it since its mostly a daily driver no big need for taller 37s until I wear out my 35s, I want to lift it additional 2" so that's on the list. I'd love to do the exhaust but I want it done right with a nice deep rumble from the V-8.

So yeah I love this truck a lot!

Color and some minor features, primarily no backup camera....I'm not super reliant to it since I have tow mirrors I use the blind spotters on those. I should've ordered my Max Steel early on, I rarely see this color so aside from the Omaha Orange I've been drooling on for a while now I went with this one. The new UI is another plus, a notch up than the previous 3G based system and I think it'll age better with this 2018.
