Whoops on the double post. Guess I'm a noob and not used to the post approval.

Vee, I got it at ford of Kirkland. It's a bit run down but I got a good deal and am now going to give it the proper tlc.

This is the first forum I have seen in a long time with post approval. Got to a pain for the Mod. Wonder why? Did the Raptor guys try to take over the forum? Actually would not surprise me :)

I'm not sure. I tried signing up with my first name BoldAdventure and never got an email. And eventually got one for this name and they removed the post-approval after a few posts. Making sure you're not a spammer.

2006 PW Reg Cab

Post by Blade » Wed Apr 27, 2016 7:25 pm

Hello guys

I am right now buying a 2006 PW Reg cab. Was a salvage title car but it seems to only has a new fender, bumper and hood fixed and I was desperate to find a reg cab! So I surely will be sometimes asking this or that here since I am TOTALLY new into RAM's!
I had a 1993 HZJ75 Landcruiser that I am about to sell and had LOTS of problems with it and need more power and cargo weight since the Toyota was totally over its limits at 3.8tons.
Will post pics as soon as I have the car...

I was perfectly happy with my 2014 1500 Laramie but knew I was in trouble when I casually started searching my local dealers for Power Wagons over the last few months. I have lusted after the PW since its modern introduction. I owned a 2006 Ram 2500HD before my 2014 1500 Laramie. The rough ride of the 2500HD leafs springs grew old after 8 years of ownership so a 1500 coil suspension was heaven. Problem was that I had some life style contradictions with the posh leather seats in my 1500 Laramie. Seat covers were always on since I live rural and am a hardcore hunter. I missed the larger 2500/3500 frame and size. My dealer just got in a perfectly optioned Power Wagon for my needs. One test drive and it was a easy sale. The Power Wagon is a force. So much so even the Chevy and Ford guys are giving me the thumbs up all the time. :o I can't believe how much better the new 2500/3500 suspension is over my last 2006 2500. It road extremely close in comfort to my 2014 1500 Laramie. I knew I had to take a few pics for its forum introduction. I waxed and detailed this monster on Sunday.

Image

I went over it as a concourse judge would. The paint is absolutely perfect. The new Ram paint facility has really stepped up with this truck. I don't know if it's because it's color is black metallic but quality control missed nothing. Fit and finish and door gaps are perfect. Even inside the door jams are painted to perfection with no sags or runs. Probably the best paint I have ever seen on a domestic vehicle. Certainly rivals my Audi A8 in paint.

Just picked up a 2016 Power Wagon last week. A little overkill for towing my little trailer.

I bought a 08 quad cab from an online government auction last July and have been smiling ever since.
Just wanted to say thanks to all of you for the great resource of information that's available here, you've inspired me to attempt some mods.
Now for the gratuitous articulation shot.

:winchmob:
It was in really good shape for 81K miles and for the price I was able to get little things fixed, like small holes in the roof where the emergency light bar was mounted. The other body damage was limited to the bedrails and tailgate, which I covered with plastic. It still has inside adjustable "A" pillar spotlights, which I love, they're very stable and I can adjust them right to where I want to see. The spotlights definitely get peoples attention, they're not sure who I am.
It was missing the factory jack and the winch remote, which were easy enough to replace.
When I picked it up, the BLM office refused to give me any service records  , so I looked at the oil change reminder sticker in the window and went to the local shop that had been servicing it and they were kind enough to print out all the service records that they had on file for me :D . All in all, they took really good care of this one and performed all the regular standard service, including gear boxes and tune ups.
It needed ball joints and while I was in there I decided to put in greasable axle u-joints, knowing that it would be an issue in the future.
I have no regrets or buyers remorse, this is the truck of my dreams! :D

They go through the pillar but whoever installed them did it in a way that required notching the metal door lip to clear the light. The brand of the light is "Unity" and each one is 245,000 candle power halogen. It looks like mine would be a model #330GM-0002.
