New Member in Washington State with a G56 Regular Cab

Post by WashingtonWagon » Wed Mar 16, 2022 4:49 pm

Hi everyone,

I wanted to introduce myself. I just picked up a 2006 Regular Cab Power Wagon g56. I picked it up from an older gentleman that purchased it a year old with 30k on it. I have had a long list of off-road vehicles but my current rig was a 1972 K20 Chevy. I adored that pickup but it was a bit of a bear for my fiancé to drive in the hills or on the trail. Also with myself being 6'2 I was extremely cramped in that old school cab. I sold it and begin looking for a replacement and stumbled across this truck on marketplace. To be honest I had completely forgotten they built power wagons in the 3rd gen body. I realized it was the perfect truck for what I needed with the lockers, sway bar disconnect, 4.56 gears and the beloved G56 all from the factory  . We hooked up my 2018 CTD g56 and made the 3 plus house trip to grab it. The truck was rougher than described and had 100k more miles than the add listed. I low balled him a few thousand dollars and drug it home. It need some little things here and there but is a solid truck and great platform to start with.

I spent yesterday changing fluids etc. I also put my 37x13.50 Coopers on I saved from my k20. With some skinny wheel action and a BFH I was able to get them to clear. I have some Carli high clearance arms on the way to push the wheels forward for some added clearance.

The plans for this truck are some armor and maintenance. Throw our RTT on and spend the summer enjoying some 4 wheelin' and camping!

Very uncommon pickup, I am a little jealous. I've wanted one forever. I am trying to find the time to build one myself, out of an 06 QCSB PW and an 07 RCLB G56 Hemi pickup with 71k miles on it. I've got the trucks, just not the time.

Single cab and stick shift! You may have the only one.

Somewhere in this forum there is a list of production numbers you may find interesting. I don't recall where though.
