Hello! 2018 Mojave Sand PW
Hello! You folks are a wealth of information, thanks for that! My name is Tony and live in the Austin TX area.
Just got my new work rig and wow! These things have been refined a bit since my old ‘79 PW I restored in high school. A truck that goes anywhere AND let’s you ride in an air conditioned seat while it takes you? Yep, sign me up. This thing has bells and whistles I didn’t even know I wanted. My ‘08 CTD that was just fine with me last week seems like a dinosaur today. But a damn dependable dinosaur at that, hoping for the same with the new one.
Just put nerf bars and a Frontier grille guard (supposedly ranch hand won’t fit though I’ve seen a few with them?) on it so far but I have an ACIW headache rack and Weatherguard toolbox on order. Will throw 35’s on it, either Toyo M/T or G wrangler MTR+K, when I decide between keeping stock wheels or getting AEV Katlas.
Is there much resale on the stock wheel and tire set up?

Re: Hello! 2018 Mojave Sand PW
Yes, for the right buyer. Your truck is the baby-poop-brown special edition, so the wheels are unique to that model. Not really unique, mind you, but unique. They're solid black instead of black/machined like the other PW wheels. I still don't understand how skipping a step makes them "special" instead of "incomplete" or "factory seconds".
Anyway, Power Wagon wheels of any flavor are always in demand, 2017+ wheels especially because they're new and the first departure from the bright aluminum look they've had since 2005, and yours should be especially in demand being "special". There isn't a buyer under every rock, since most people these days are looking for form over function. And a lot of buyers looking for PW wheels are shopping for singles so they can do a 5-tire rotation with a 35" or 37" in the bed. Your wheels being special will hurt your case with those single wheel buyers since there aren't many baby poop trucks on the road yet.
The stock tires have a well deserved reputation for being junk under such a heavy truck, and you'll have an easier time selling wheels and tires if you split them up. Jeep and Toyota owners love 33" Duratracs.

Its been 7 years or so since my kids were babys, but my memory tells me their poop was much darker than that.
Welcome around these parts, TDB, and enjoy the new rig!

Thanks all! And thanks Low Sky for the opinion on the wheels (and great admiration of the truck color
).
Just ordered some wrangler mtr+k in 315/70-17 to go on the factory wheels. Will see if I can live with the radius arm rub I assume I will get. And have a mufflex/Magnaflow set up on its way now too! Geeze these things are quiet.

Re: Hello! 2018 Mojave Sand PW
You assume incorrectly. 35s fit fine.
Re: Hello! 2018 Mojave Sand PW
Your assessment that my assumption was incorrect was correct! That’s a mouthful.
315/70-17 GY Wrangler MTR+k fit with no rub at full lock going through small (2ft or so) ditch. Haven’t stuffed them on a big obstacle but seem great so far. Sure does look like these trucks were meant to come with 35’s from the factory!
