Looking forward to a review.

I'm thinking of doing this in place of my steering stabilizer.

The only two things holding me back is money and concern of a tracking/wandering problem. Had a bad experience years ago with a similar setup. It wold never track straight and required constant corrections to stay between the lines as it were.

I hope I don't end up with a tracking problem. From everything I've researched, these new PSC parts and this Borgeson box are top notch, top of the food chain. That's exactly what I need.

As I think most everyone knows, my truck is far from stock at this point and in the next couple of weeks, it's going to be quite a bit further along. It is still my daily driver, but it also gets seriously used. I take care of my truck, but I also use it very hard. I'm usually driving like a bat out of hell, it hits triple digit speeds out in the desert, it occasionally gets up to a couple feet of air time, it goes mudding, it goes snow bashing, it goes dune running, forest trail bashing, log jumping, it commonly does 85-90 mph and higher, 500 mile highway trips, it does 13k foot elevation Jeep trail excursions, it occasionally hauls heavy loads (5k lbs being the heaviest ever in the bed), it tows my 30 ft pop-up, which weighs in at 4k lbs, plus 3k lbs worth of quads, dirt bikes, and supplies, with a lot of that weight on the tongue, but, it more than anything else, rock crawls like an overgrown mountain goat.
I ask a lot of my truck and it always answers the call.

Have I ever asked too much? Maybe. That's why I've had to replace the original steering gear once, I've replaced a driver side hub assembly once, I've replaced 2 driver side axle u-joints, I've replaced 1 drop pitman arm, I've replaced the original radio (volume knob wouldn't work anymore), I've replaced the fuse box cover (hold down bolt broke, it's plastic) and I've replaced one rear tail light circuit board. But if you look at that list of breakage/failures, it's really not much, especially when you take in to account what my truck goes through. My truck has never failed on me when I truly needed it. Of the list above, the things that have caused down time, actually happened during very convenient times, with the exception of the hub failure, where I was on the highway, about 15 miles out of town and the pitman arm failure, which happened at the top of a steep rock face. The hub failure is the only time my truck ever had to get home on a tow truck and not under its own power.

Most of my failures are common among our trucks though, due to these being some of the weak points. Most of my replacement parts have been very low cost; $100 junk yard steering gear(still working fine 4 years later), $109 e-bay hub(still working fine 2 years later), $8 Amazon tail light circuit board and $10 junk yard fuse box cover.

I have put $$$ into other parts though. My signature shows most of this, which is almost all for function and a little for looks.

Now, I'm digging a little deeper in to my pockets and hopefully creating even more of a beast of a Power Wagon. Eventually, my truck will probably evolve into not being my daily driver, but primarily only for gas savings, as I cannot imagine driving anything else most of the time. It does have a few slight scratches and small dents (most caused by my buddy Leif), just kidding, he just happened to be the one trying to spot me through those times. But that's ok, because I've paid him back the very same favor a few of times. Plus, my truck is built to be used, not just to be pretty, although it is good looking if I say so myself.

I'm not sure where this ramble came from, but I guess it's a good start to kick off my build thread. I've never had a build thread because I rarely take the time to take pics. I'm going to work on correcting this, hopefully for the benefit of others on the forum, if nothing else.

I will keep this thread going for the time being, while my parts are rolling in, but I will also start the build thread very soon. Stay tuned.

You won't have a tracking problem. There are a lot of things that can cause that, and some of them have nothing to do with the hydro assist itself. With the way you are setting up your front end, it's going to drive really well. I've run quite a few PSC setups on Jeeps, Dodges, Chevy trucks, all setup differently. They have all been perfect. This is the Rolls Royce of hydro assist. The stuff you see from other companies like AGR is not nearly as precise.

People often assume "hydro assist" is all the same. It's not. It's like saying all shocks are the same. Except hydro assist is even more complicated with more options for tuning.

Okay guys someone mentioned AGR. STAY AWAY FROM AGR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had 2 complete hydro assist sytems on my power wagon. The systems basically wouldn't work. I spent 5 minutes on the trail before something would break! And they said I was abusing their parts!

PSC has been on my truck for 2 1/2 years with no problems and its strong as hell.

With the Tmbrens, the Tekonsha brake controller and the WD hitch that I will be ordering soon, towing should be a much more pleasant experience from now on. Can't wait!

Getting everything from Danny at Dodge Off Road (DOR). He posted right above you in this thread. Get with him, check out his threads in the vendor section or check out his website: http://www.dodgeoffroad.com/.

Installed the new synthetic line and fairlead last night. I ordered the black thimble, but they are on back order for a couple months, so I just went with the polished instead, as my cable was pretty beat up and really needed to be replaced. Wow! This stuff is nice to work with! Plan to work hard to maintain it and protect it, so it will last a while.

it was nasty windy and dusty today, so that's why this pic looks so dirty under the fairlead.
