Exhaust Manifolds

So finally bit the bullet on this, and took my truck to the shop (local Midas) and got the manifolds fixed. I had been debating on the ARH headers but just couldn't quite get there, finally got the repair.

Five bolts were broken, three were broken at the head. The shop welded washers to them and then nuts to washers. I was surprised they got it knocked out in a day. Expensive but outside of the work I'm willing to do, and the Midas shop has been good/has good mechanics on previous issues, so I trusted them. Truck sounds (and runs) great again. I'm headed camping/riding to NM in a few weeks, we will see how it tows all fixed up.

Had to do it on my '13 a few years back. I think my mechanic had to deal with 4 broken bolts in the same manner (weld on a nut).

Too bad the 5.7 BD manifolds won't work on the 6.4, they look like a good long term fix.

Had them break on my 2008. Right side rear. The A/C drain sits right over the bolts that broken.
