2500 miles with new Camper

Post by ramv » Sun Jun 01, 2025 12:45 am

Got a new Momentum 29GS toy hauler replacing my rack and Lance 1985. Definitely a lot more weight to deal with and a lot more work to drive but it’s a nice camper. Went to Deadwood for a week from Tulsa . The 6.4 was working. 5.5 mpg. Locked out fifth after the first hundred miles since it was just for down hills. Ended up dropping the bags to 40 psi and cranking the WD hitch up a bit. Scaled came in less than 22k GCWR and around 9k GVWR so well within a 3/4 ton Ram rating (yes I know) especially with my upgraded suspension and tires/wheels.

Threw codes for high hydraulic line pressure this morning but suspect that’s due to the Revmax cooler delete and jacking around in parking lots in To/haul. It was showing 87 degrees when the codes popped.

I have a Hemifever91 octane tune. Got a little pinging in SD when I got stuck with 87 octane fuel. Mainly ran 91.

Its really cool, I would go back. Deadwood was a ton of fun too. Next time I would probably stay around Hill City/Custer State Park but nothing wrong with being near Deadwood.
