Just wanted to share this relatively inexpensive but valuable upgrade: Heated Convex side mirrors by Boost Auto Parts. Plug and play replacements for the convex mirrors that are heated (assuming you already have heated main glass). They have versions that fit 4th Gen and 4.5 Gen manual or power adjust.

Important note: If you have a 4.5 Gen with power mirrors, the instructional video doesn’t say to release the side tabs on the convex mirrors, it just says to pry. I ended up breaking part of the motor, and that part is not sold separately (by Ram) so you would need to replace the whole mirror. Fortunately I found the motor assembly (for a different application) on eBay and was able to salvage parts to fix mine.
Heated Mirrors
Re: Heated Mirrors
Where's the tab? They look amazing but I hate DIY projects that grow when I break something...

Re: Heated Mirrors
You have a 2016…so I assume they are manual adjust convex mirrors, so I don’t think you will have the delicate motor parts that I broke.
In the attached image you can see the oem mirror (left) with the part of the mirror motor that broke off when I removed it still attached. The arrows point to the red tabs that need to be released. Once the main glass is off you can release 2 or 3 of them with you fingers, then you can gently work to pry the mirror off.
Getting the main glass off is a little tricky/scary, but overall the job is easy. No wire cutting/splicing required. Worth the $80-ish bucks (or even the $150 it ended up costing me)

Re: Heated Mirrors
Good deal, thanks. I ordered them up, will give it a go. Not as important now that I'm in OK instead of CO, but last years ice storms still made me want this. Corrected on mine being now power.

Re: Heated Mirrors
Right on, Hopefully the install goes smooth for you!
Definitely nice to have all the mirrors defrost—not just the main glass—during inclement weather!

Re: Heated Mirrors
Wow, super easy on the fourth gen. Second one didn't take me more than 1-2 minutes. First had a bit of a learning curve but still was pretty easy just awkward working my fingers in behind the lens.. Thanks for sharing this! I am excited, I have been noticing in the mornings now that it's cooler I use the defrost every day and I really do lean on the outer convex to see blind spots while changing lanes.
Thanks again!
Thanks again!
