I bought the mopar steering upgrade 3 months ago and my mechanic says it bad already. He said the tie rod end on the drag link opposite of the pitman arm is bad. I got under there and checked and can kinda turn the drag link a little . Should there be any movement there?

Rockauto says they won't warranty it because it isn't for my truck ( 05) which is bullshit. The dealer wants $150 just to verify it faulty even though my shop says it was. This mopar warranty is a joke.

You went from the Y style to the new T style linkage. Did you use OEM parts, or parts from Rock Auto?

Yes. All OE Mopar parts from rock auto.

Yes, if you grab a hold of it you can turn it. It should be tight, but not impossible to move. Rod ends and such become a problem when they are sloppy and/or loose.
Are you having any issues with the steering or is this something your mechanic pointed out during a general inspection? It's not unheard of to hear shops selling customers snake oil...

Yes I took it in because of a vibration at 60+mph. Thought maybe my new tires weren't balanced properly. He said tires are fine but drivers side ball joints and drag link are bad. I know I need ball joints but I don't believe my brand new steering linkage is bad. Just ordered ball joints so ill start with those.

Yeah, if you know the balljoints are bad, start with those. I would be surprised if a brand new linkage would be bad so quickly unless you abused it.

Put new ball joints in and much much better but still getting some vibration in the steering wheel.
