4th Gen Center Floor Console in a 5th Gen (2019+)

They gave us a bit of a short stick in the 2019+ Power Wagons with the pathetic and useless “floor console” that amounts to a pen tray and slightly larger pen tray. Nobody is going to be sitting in the center front seat that has legs anyways with the lack of space between the seat and the center stack.

Fortunately, the center console from 4th Gen trucks will fit, with a little bit of caressing with a dremel. This provides you with 3 more cup holders and a decent sized tray.

You can buy these parts new, but be prepared to spend over $200. I bought the whole console for $70 used on eBay.

Step 1. Remove tcase shift knob(pry off cap with small screwdriver, then there is a nut you can remove). Remove tray liner (lifts out). Detach tcase shift boot from console. Use a trim removal tool to pry the boot up a bit from the SEAT SIDE, then use another tool(screwdriver) to push the metal clip in to clear the retaining slot. Remove the (3) 8mm screws holding the console down, and remove console, feeding shift boot thru opening. Remove trim panel at bottom of center stack by prying edges back to gain leverage, then pull it straight back to remove clips.

Step 2. Trim new center console to fit. This is a lot of back and forth between test fitting and the dremel. You should just need to trim where it fits under the center stack console and then removing a support on the underside of the front piece to get the panel to sit level on the transmission hump. Your trimming of the front panel doesn’t have to be perfect because it’s mostly hidden under the center stack. I also trimmed a little U cutout at the passenger rear so it doesn’t pinch a wire loom.

Step 3. Once satisfied with the fitment off the the center console after all the trimming, complete the Install using (2) screws, the rearward one on the drivers side (under Shiftboot) and rearward one on the passenger side (in cupholder). Snap in the shift boot, and reinstall the shift knob.

Nice retrofit! I would rather have three more cup holders all day long. Legs do get a little splayed if an adult sits in the middle seat but it's not a deal breaker. Is the rotary shift knob next?.. . Beautiful truck, man.
