2019 Ram power waggon is it worth to buy one?
Hi I'm new here, I'm thinking of buying 2019 Ram power waggon, is it a good truck? I never owed Dodge or Ram, share your experience what's good what's bad please! Cheers!

This is kind of a loaded question. What are your needs and wants in a new truck? What are you comparing to? It’s not the right truck for everyone, but it’s a great truck if it meets your needs and wants.

Well I currently have F150, I live in Canadian Rockies I have a lot of places where I can go offroading there's a bunch of old logging roads in the mountains where I can take PW and explore, also I'm looking for daily driver in the city, I should not be expecting good fuel economy from 6.4 v8 but would like to what's average mpg for power waggon

If you want a very off-road capable fullsize 3/4 ton gas truck, then yes. I love my '16 and the 8 spd transmission would be an awesome upgrade.
That being said, they are hard on fuel, make you want to buy expensive accessories, and require some modifications to fit you particular needs.
Probably a Gladiator would be more capable, and a diesel pickup can haul and tow more and get better mileage. A Ram1500 rides like a car and can still haul stuff. It really is what do you need.

On another note I have to choose between 2019 power waggon and 2020 Rebel dealership gave me sweet deal for both, it's so hard to decide I wand awesome offroad truck but still thinking of daily driver so fuel economy is important, I can't really decide

You have to ask yourself why you want one in the first place, then ask specific questions.
Not trying to be a dick, but worth it to me might not be even close for you.

Re: 2019 Ram power waggon is it worth to buy one?
To me it is very much worth having the PW. I have a 2015 in a Tradesman package and my average mileage (combined) hovers around 13.5-14.5 depending on how much I press the skinny pedal. If I take a road trip and stay below 75 I can get up to 17 MPG. All this with 35 inch BFG KO2s. You need to check the real word mileage on a Ram Rebel. I have a feeling it isn't dramatically different. The guys on TFL truck tested a Rebel in the real world and I think it was just a bit better than what I am reporting. In general I agree with Waldo that this is a very personal choice but if you plan on really using the lockers and winch it may be worth it. If you just do average off-roading a Rebel will likely be good as well.

Re: 2019 Ram power waggon is it worth to buy one?
I have a 2012 Power Wagon (5.7L Hemi, 4.56 gears, 6spd auto, outdated interior) and I love it. Recently I test drove a new 2020 Ford Super Duty Tremor, 2020 Ford Raptor, and a 2020 Ram Power Wagon. Just a few thoughts:
-Ford Tremor: Bigger back seat, 7.3L V-8 had plenty of power, ride quality was stiffer than the Power Wagon but not bad, higher towing capacity
-Ford Raptor: Comfortable ride, pretty peppy, piped in fake engine sound made me want to drive it off a cliff
-Ram Power Wagon: Great ride quality, really comfortable seats, felt like it had good power deliver, reminded me of an upscale version of my 2012
With that said, if I had to get a new truck today, I lean towards a new Power Wagon. The truck just felt right to me. The updated infotainment system is super easy to use (Ford’s was confusing), all the window/door lock switches were placed where I would want them (Ford has their stuff all over and it was frustrating to me) and the ride quality is fantastic. If you don’t need the HD towing capacity it’s hard to beat the quality of what the Power Wagon offers. My truck is 90% pavement princess/daily driver, but when I’ve needed it to be more, I’ve always been thankful to have it.

Re: 2019 Ram power waggon is it worth to buy one?
I truly love my Power Wagon and it does everything I have ever wanted it to do. But - I probably wouldn't buy it again because I really don't "need" the special capability it has. I ordered it on a whim just to have another toy to play with. I purpose myself to use it at least once a week so it doesn't just sit. (It is one of my 5 vehicles) I don't know anyone else with a 2014 with less than 10k miles

Re: 2019 Ram power waggon is it worth to buy one?
Probably too late to help, but:
2017 Power Wagon here. The only rig I would swap it for would be a 2019 or 2020 Power Wagon for the 8 speed.
I get 10.8 MPG all around, with 37" BFG KM2s and 5:13 gears. Amazingly, that's almost exactly what I got overall MPG with the stock gears/tires.
One of the guys I 4x4 with has a Rebel with the 5.7 Hemi. He gets around 15 MPG overall.
If you want to bias 4x4ing potential, get the Power Wagon. If you want to bias towards MPG, get the Rebel. Even better, get the Rebel with the 3.0L diesel.

I've always wanted an eco diesel and the 2nd gen eco diesel is pretty tits.

I got 2020 3.5 v6 twin turbo F150 with fx4 offroad package, I took it for test drive from local dealership I was impressed how torque and snappy it is going up the hill I heard turbos kicking in and I said "that's it..." I still like RAM maybe next one will be Ram, for now I'll mod this f150 (6" lift, 35" wheels etc.)AceMan wrote:Curious, what exactly did you buy?belerafond wrote: ↑Fri Mar 27, 2020 2:08 amThanks to everyone who replied I purchased the truck last week and it's not power waggon or rebel but there's always next time
