Offline Nav Search Bar

My PW includes the 12” screen with Navigation. Has anyone found the solution to using the search bar on the main Navigation screen?

Typing a POI or anything doesn’t return a search term and instead lets you know that you’re “offline”. Is there a way to use your phones data so that the search bar is online?

I guess the central question is what’s the point of the search bar?
