Waldo, so glad I found you.... Sorry had to do it.
Yes autopark is annoying however I have fixed that problem by buckling the seatbelt.
It is a seatbelt sensor not a door sensor and buckling the belt will make it so you can drive with the door open.
Also from what I understand the Tazer DT and Tazer Ram can disable this "feature". I am not near my truck right now but can confirm that later.

Door ajar will do it too. My understanding is that they implemented it because retards grabbed the radio knob and turned it instead of that stupid rotary knob and jumped out of the vehicle. Combine bad design, idiots and lawyers and you end up with Idiocracy. It wasn't a movie, it was a documentary.
I'll check out the Tazers. Do they require tearing the dash apart to bypass the security module?
It is disabled in 4 lo. It would suck to have to drive that way to get to civilization.

I think door ajar does it at a certain MPH when the belt is buckled. I drove up my driveway with the door open to test it.
So the answer to that is maybe. The Tazer Ram I had to tear the dash apart (see my other post on here) however according to Zautomotive they now have a bypass plug that will give you access to both a restricted and unrestricted OBD II port to make it easier.
Email them before ordering.

I have one of those bypass cables. It sucks. There are no directions and it implies you should connect it to two different jumper blocks, one of which doesn’t exist in a 2018 power wagon. Complexly worthless. Just throw a couple of $20s out the window, it’s a lot less frustrating.
2018 White Rambox, Diamondback HD bed cover, White Knuckle sliders, Carli and Purple Cranium diff guards, masterpull 11mm superline, 37 Toyo MT.

Yeah. You're safe from it if you have a column shifter. I think the 1500s have had it for a while and they flash the ones that don't when they get serviced.

It's actually the result of the class action law-suit about that famous movie star kid from the JJ Star Trek movies, his 8-Speed Jeep Grand Cherokee killed him because it wasn't in park when he got out. Part of the lawsuit demanded that this feature be implemented in all new vehicles. It's not just FCA's either.
So you are right about stupid people.
My Jeep has this, but the funny thing is, it's completely disabled when the doors are off. You just get a warning when your seat belt is unconnected, but you are in the seat that the vehicle is not in park.
So, they must imply a similar sensor to the sensor that turns off airbags in the passenger seat if something lighter than 40lbs is over there.

I got mine from securitymodulebypass .com site. All plugs are connected and it was so easy to install on my 2018. Not sure what you are talking about but mine came with instructions. Even without instructions its pretty simple to figure out.

The zautomative Ram 2500 cable is what I have iirc. It is terrible. Their bypass electronics alone are fine, just a pain to install. But their special ram cable sucks.
