I found a new smart bar for my PW in Texas. Bought and it was being shipped by UPS. It was to be delivered next Tuesday. Got a notice that it's missing. Here's the notice.

Merchandise is missing. UPS will notify the sender with additional details. / All merchandise missing, empty carton was discarded. UPS will notify the sender with details of the damage.

Boy...am I pissed. It's one of 5 new unsold smart bars in the country.

My guess is they didn't package it correctly and it may have fallen out of the box. Was the shipping weight correct?

Probably on the floor of a UPS warehouse somewhere. May want to send them a picture.

I've had that happen before with UPS apperantly stuff gets lost or stolen all the time.

"UPS". Sounds about right.

They lost a snowmobile ramp I ordered years ago. 50-something lbs, 8 feet tall. "Lost".

I work in the receiving department for Home Depot part time. You should see the damage items that we get through UPS. FedX is just as bad. Couple months back. I received an empty pallet that was to had a custom made door on it. All the shipping papers was stapled to the pallet and not to the door.

Have an idea that my smart bar will show up on craig's list or flea bay in a week or two.

No chit Sherlock. I bought 3 of the last 15 skid bars last year. So there is 12 maybe left.

Ah, gotcha. I guess I didn't put it together. I was generally under the impression enough parts were in the supply chain to sustain a production run for 20 or so years.

Ah, gotcha. I guess I didn't put it together. I was generally under the impression enough parts were in the supply chain to sustain a production run for 20 or so years.

In most cases. After 10 years, the warehouses usually sell the old stock to someone. Then they sell it. That's how I bought my skid bars.

No. But my UPS tracking as changed. It now shows it in transit again. But with no delivery date.

I called the place today. UPS called them yesterday to tell them what happened, What they told me. Things have to go through channels. It will be about a week before they ship me another one.

They found my smart bar. It should be here tomorrow.

I got it. Wifey said that the UPS guy just about lost his balls carrying the box. It's a heavy SOB. Drag link was to be here today. But got delayed because of the flooding in the mid west. Hopefully tomorrow for it.

From looking at past post pictures from others who had taken their smartbar apart. I did the samething. I separated the housing at where the slider is. I was checking to see how much grease is in it. It's got enough grease in it I think. It's not packed, but everything is coated with some left over.

No they don't. I installed the smartbar and plugged it in. Everything works great. In fact, my lockers lock quicker now. The dealer never seen it.

What kind of trouble were you having that needed a new smart bar to fix?
