IM BACK.........sort of

Post by neotech » Fri Nov 09, 2012 12:46 pm

Hey all. Not sure if you remember me. I found the new forum and figured id show myself. Now I have a interesting situation. I sadly do not have my 06 PW anymore. But i do have
PW winch
PW winch mount
PW disconnect sway bar
PW floor mats
And a few other odds and ends I have been collecting or have just aquired.
I also have a 08 QC 2500.

Now the answer is NO. I am not building a wannabe PW. But as I do not know the others in the old DT forum anymore and recognize many here this is where I would like to Be and hope you will have me.

What I am doing tho is slowly building up what I have so as to try to attain some of my lost glory of being a proud owner of a REAL truck. It has taken me a couple years of sadness, remorse and pain but in time I know I will own a Powerwagon again. Untill then I have to make do.

And I Swear this - I WILL NEVER BADGE THIS TRUCK AS A PW. That is the one thing I have always hated about people. LIARS.

I hope you will accept me as I am and perhaps we can relive my PW experiences here in the new forum. And plan future ones.

Thanks Guys

Welcome back. I believe many still lurk back and forth but the new posts are not as frequent as they use to be there. So, is the new truck a diesel? Why did you get rid of the PW? I seem to recall you having a black one. Am I correct? I have mine in forhte lietime powertrain inspection as I type. Going to pick her up in a few. No issues I was told. I asked them to look at my brakes and they are still 60% front 50% rear after 60K on the odometer. They squeal a little but the life left is a pleasant surprise. I was figuring a change in the next 10K or so. I did have them flush out the brake fluid and put some fresh stuff in by my request. I should of changed it myself a year ago.

Thanks guys. The new one is a diesel. But I have a plan. Some of you recall that mopar built up a silver QC diesel with 40" MT tires. I plan to follow some of their build cues such as the way they mounted the winch. Not going to do 40's though.

Hey OJ I am suprised you remeber. Yes I had a 06 Black PW on 37's with NO LIFT. lol someone will remember all the questions I recieved on that one.
Today I ordered a pair of Bilstein 5100's for the front from George at 8Lug. The only issue i will have as far as offroading is the extra weight of the diesel. But there are ways around it. At the same time I won't be wheelin like I used to with the PW. Heck I was watching some of my Youtube videos the other day. Miss those days.

For this truck I have a few plans but it will be over the course of a couple years to complete. But I do have a good start

Parts I have so far
PW winch and Mount
Pw Disconnect Sway bar (btw does anybody know how to make this work stand alone yet?) with Links
PSC Steering box Brace
Assorted Lighting.

I am planning on doing a mild carli suspension package down the road. Untill then just slowly upgrading the issues like Ball Joints and such. Any Ideas that you guys have please let me know. Like I said it will not be a true PW but i will do my best to keep up

I'm sorry I don't remember your old truck but your current ride sounds like a fun project. It took me 7 years to get into my Power Wagon and I can't imagine not having it now. Hunting season alone is way more fun with this truck.

Sweet. We can tow the PW's who get modified past street legal to the trails together.

I am amazed by how much change a lot of members have place on their PW's. I remember when we were just starting to cut fenders and it was a milestone when we managed 37" tires. Now I see quite a few of the original members with some really radical rides. Man I missed alot.

Welcome back NEO! I remember you from DT quite well, glad you found your way over here. I am the exception - I changed my name, but the Power Wagon has pretty much stayed the same. On DT I was PWDurangoFam, here I am Glenn5995.

Yes sir !!! Been through some tough personal crisis these last 4 days. My wifes mom passed away. Wife is an identical twin & was SUPER close to her mom & IS SUPER close to her sister. Burial was today. That woman was loved by all. Tough for me too. Been being strong for the wife & family but it's getting me too. Her dad is lost without her. He has been taking care of her since her first stroke back in 1988-the year i joined the Dept. Tough stuff that woman & family went through.

Good to see you back Neo !!!
