I Give Up! RustyPW was RIGHT

These new trucks have too many damn nannies!!! I was wrong. I take it all back. 3rd Gen's are the best gen. I hang my head in shame and defeat. I finally realized the errors of my way.

So bumper time. Have the park sensors unplugged. Need to run to Home Depot. Thinking, no bigs. They are unplugged. HOLY HELL, you think TPMS or the Seat Belt chime is annoying? The parking sensor will chime at you NONFLIPPINGSTOP.

My dash is a Christmas tree at this point now.

But at least my grab handle hasn't fallen off yet.

:run:

It didn't take me long after getting a 2019 1500 to buy my 2010 PW back because of that.

I should feel sorry for you............................................but I don't...................

And my grab handle hasn't broken yet. I know it's a time bomb. But they haven't broken.

The only things I wish I had from the 4G's is the 6.4 motor, 6 speed auto tranny, and the 11.5 diff so that I could go to 5.13's.

All of my parking sensors are disconnected (front and rear). I get a chime at startup and don’t even notice it now. The buttons are set to disable. 2016 truck.

I've always wanted to shorten mine up to 120" wheelbase, put a 6ft bed on it and 40's.

You can turn off all of that stuff with AlfaOBD.

I can't find his thread but what was that dudes name from Florida that had the 3rd gen rock crawling truggy? The white one with the exoskeleton, I believe he shot nitrous to it also.

Know who you are talking about. He has been out to Moab a couple of times with it.

I had a nannie episode this past weekend too. Muddy power line in the pouring rain. I couldn't climb a hill that my buddy in his 2nd gen ran right up with open diffs. Been pulling fuses trying to find the best one in my 2012 ever since.

Yeah, I'm getting on board with that when we get back. Got a lot more changes coming over the next few months.

Just note that in some cases it’s harder than it looks. And there is pretty much no documentation on how to use it for those cases where it’s a multi-step process. People do know, but it’s not always easy to find.

RetiredBLM makes a nanny kill switch kit that you should look into... 😉

Saw it. Just going with the pull the fuse method for now. I had not had a problem before now. We got into the muddy stuff with shale underneath and it reared its ugly head.

Pull the ABS pump fuse. It’s F06 on my 2015, big fat green bastard.

Yup. Its J6 in mine. It kills the speedometer and the trailer brake controller but it takes the nannies with them.

at that point, it is truly easier and headache free to install the switch

I couldn't agree more. It puts the abs/traction control + disable at your fingertips for less than $100. And it's a stupid simple installation

I'll get there eventually. Have a few other things on the schedule/budget this year.

Keep pulling the fuse on your 2012, because the Nanny Kill Switch only fits 2013-2019 currently. :(

I was wondering about that. Thanks for confirming.
