My winch mount broke and the winch messed up the front of my truck. The motor on the winch snapped of as it was getting pulled threw the bumper. Do you think this will be covered under warranty.

Depends on why the mount broke. Is it a manufacturing defect or overload?

You’re asking the wrong group of people. That’s going to be up to your service writer at the dealership.

Care to share how that happened?

I have pulled until all kinds of stuff broke, but the winch or mount? Damn that had to be some out of control shit!

I have a winch on my CTD but no wench or even a mount for a wench. Did you get a wench with your truck?

Nah, just a winch novice. This happens when you use the winch line as a snatch strap. I’ve seen pics of exactly what the OP is describing. 100% operator error.

I just cant imagine that mount would ever break before the line would. I mean even with a bunch of pulleys, seems like just about everything else would break first.

Welp per chrysler ordering the winch mount for 2018 and older has been discontinued

Guess I have done a lot of pulling while winching, but something like a running start like with a snatch strap, that does sound like trouble. I would think of damaging the drum or something in the motor. If a 16K winch and a 7K rig driving in reverse in low range with lockers on does not do it. You need a helicopter. Of course this may be a troll and he is laughing his ass off at us going on.....

A quick search suggests the current part number is 52121221AF and one can be yours for the low low price of $325. In the OP’s case, he probably also needs the L and R frame brackets, a new bumper, and a new winch.

It’s probably a better plan to learn and practice safe winching technique so you never need to replace the winch bracket and associated other broken parts.

They only discontinue parts that have low sales volume for extended periods. There’s probably very few people breaking the winch cradle and it doesn’t make financial sense to continue producing and stocking a part that no one is buying

Just a shot in the dark here, but I would have to think 99.9% of the winch cradle sales went to guys with a non-power wagon hemi looking to add a winch (or is it wench?). I mean who breaks these things?!

Probably that or guys who bought a used wagon that someone had stripped the winch off of. The first one I looked at before I bought mine was without winch or cradle

I agree with you completely but remember reading a post where a part, can’t recall what it was now, for a 2005 PW was discontinued. I suppose that may be part of it when owning a niche vehicle though. Manufacturers will only support them so long.

Low volume part for a low volume truck for sure, but with Mopar you also have to be careful with part revisions. The AE revision of the winch mount is discontinued and impossible to find online. The AF revision is still out there, and I’d wager a dollar the two are interchangeable.

Dealer is full of it, it would show as discontinued on this dealers website but does not. I'd call Chrysler customer service to find out if this is true or just the dealer trying to get out of doing warranty work on your truck.
