WARNING!!! DO NOT buy the Procal for your 2018. After the first one did not work, they sent another. It stuck my truck in limp mode and have to wait weeks to get into the shitty dealer. No speedo, no odometer, no back up lines, over heating, no low range, have to trick into 4x4 by starting while in 4x4, no lockers, ect, ect. Happened just as I left town. Second PW wheeling trip, second fail. First time due to all 5 Dura tracs having multiple flats, this time it was ProCal. Absolute nightmare. Bought a scanner, wont clear it. Going to try a shop with a Wyotech tomorrow......

That sucks. Maybe give AEV a call first thing tomorrow to see if they have any advice? I really don’t like hearing this as I’m planning to step up to 35s soon and the procal is the only way I know of to correct the speedo... I hope you get this figured out soon and please keep us updated.

did you install the Bypass?
explain your install, provide some pictures...

My 2018 worked Flawlessly, and so have others. i dont assume this was Procal machining error.

Sorry to hear. Mine has performed flawlessly.

What has AEV's customer service been like?

Share more details about what you did with the first ProCal that left you in limp... Did it hang or freeze up?

You said they sent you a second unit. That one didn't work for you either? Or were you still corrupt from the first one?

OP said in this thread that the first unit wouldn’t even sync. The second one caused the limp mode.

AEV seems puzzled. Nothing worked to reset the truck. Going to pay a shop for a ECU flash tomorrow.

FCT,

When you're done I'd recommend contacting 4x4x4door on CF and renting an Autel Maxsys and Auto Enginuity. You can complete everything from the ProCal and a lot more.

Don't know if there is anything special about the 2018, but most tuners that I have looked at have the ability to adjust tune and shift points for tire size. I use an Edge on my '05, and the Edge display gives me corrected speedo readings for my 35s. The reason I mention this is that your factory speedo is not accurate. It reads a couple mph higher than actual speed because manufacturers face fines and liability issues if stock speedos read low, so they always read high from the factory. When you switch from 33s to 35s, your speedo could then be right on the money. Mine is. Don't sweat it too much.

Compare your speed with a GPS.

Not sure about that... My 2014 read exact speed from the factory with recommended tire pressures. Once the tire tread begins to wear down, the speedometers will naturally read higher than actual...

any comment as to your install process?
the OBD port on some 2018s have a secondary obd harness inline that was not annotated on directions.

Ok, so got things rolling again. Ended up re-setting the Procal and then a professional scanner was able to clear the trouble code. The trouble code was for Speed Sensor Value not possible. Basically saying the info from speed sensor made no sense to the ABS module. Afterwards we re-did the tire size again and it took ok. Only thing we can think of was a glitch the first time of some unknown origin. Once he updates his scanner for 2018 I will go back to fix the TPS. Seems like a common issue, Procal had it happen as well. But we know the fix now.

Glad you got that fixed.

Those duracraps are the worst tire I've ever had the displeasure of having on any truck I've owned.

Threw them away and put Mickey Thompson ATZ P3's on and those have been great.
