I know in MDS some resonate. I never run in MDS. What Catback should I do? Any performance gains? I remember on my Vortec 8100, dyno proven was twin magnaflows for about 20 rwhp. I assume this exhaust is more efficient, but like my second gen, less junk under the truck is better. (I did a 3" magnaflow with a side dump over the frame behind the cab on it. Factory exhaust cracked the cat due to leverage.)

Most people just replace the muffler with a straight thru type. If you like it loud you can replace the muffler with just pipe. Mufflex and Solo Performance make a muffler delete bolt-in pipe.

I purchased a Magnaflow 12909 muffler (https://amzn.to/2wSYqXh). On my 1500 I had installed the Mufflex 14inch muffler. And I liked the sound. This time I thought I'd try something a little similar but more custom.

Took it to a local exhaust shop in town, paid $200 even to have it installed and have the trash can resonator removed. Was very clear about wanting it to be out of the way for ground clearance.

What he came up with was fantastic. I'm very happy with the results.

I just installed a Magnaflow 3" in, 3" out, 18" long muffler. I dumped it right at the muffler with a 45deg pipe. No drone, and it's not that loud.

I did a Black Widow Widowmaker with resonator delete. I had an over the axle dump but it was too loud, had to extend the tailpipe.

Get a Gibson Sport Truck system. I had one on my '99 Ram. It would set car alarms off just idling through parking lots. Too bad it doesn't work with rock rails. Otherwise it would be on my PW.

Get a Gibson Sport Truck system. I had one on my '99 Ram. It would set car alarms off just idling through parking lots. Too bad it doesn't work with rock rails. Otherwise it would be on my PW.

Rock rails? Wth could they possibly have to do with it?

Kind of sounds like going to the guy that did my 2nd gen and getting him to do it is the way to go? He did a great job for a good price. I don't really need louder, I just am annoyed when I drive 5.7 Chargers and Challengers as rental cars they sound better than my 6.4

I did a mufflex when my truck was new (<3mo), it’s fine. Had the resonator cut and dumped a year later, noticeably louder, some drobe at certain RPM bands. In retrospect, pretty ambivalent about it...probably wouldn’t bother doing any of that untill maybe the OEM rusted off.

Rock rails are in the way. The system exits in front of the right rear tire. It's 3" in, 2 tubes - 2.5" out.
