Anyone done the update FCA sent out recently? My 13 Wagon keeps pestering me to perform the update. I’m hesitant after seeing the story of people’s system freezing up and continually restarting. Anyone here have any issue after they updated their system?

Lucky you. It’s a terrible idea to connect everything in a vehicle to on location.

2017 with Uconnect. Just ran out on the 6 month "free" trial so renewed for the year because I'm a slave to the voice text feature (here in TX there are plenty of cities that are outlawing phone use while driving, which I absolutely agree with) so they get me for $150 a year. That being said I updated the system firmware to 17.11.07 and it's been stable. I did it with a thumb drive and have never received an OTA request. According to the guy I was talking with they are phasing that option out due to the file size.

My trucks live in the NRQZ where none of that magic stuff works.

My 2005 is even better, because it doesn't even have the dreaded can bus. Old school is my school.

Thanks. Went ahead and updated mine. Seems to be working fine. Although now it’s even more insistent on starting Apple Music when you start the truck. Even if you were listening to a podcast or Amazon Music. Before it would restart whatever was last playing.

havent been bothered with updates but got recall notice for the transmission might let the vehicle roll away. maybe ram and ford can put all their brilliance together and make a shift lever that stays in park

Yea i got that recall as well. Have yet to take it in... not thinking i am going to either. It works, sooo...
Does anyone know if they actually change anything, or do they just confirm it doesnt slip into gear and they are done?

It was an inspection and a reflash of the BCM. I needed an TSB for uconnect done so I got the recall done at the same time.

So they basically just try to put it in gear without pushingthe brake, and if it wont move then thats it? If thats all it is i sure as heck aint taking it in. My notification said nothing about needing a reflash.

I got that notice for my 16, but it said they didn't have a fix yet and would notify me when they did.

Yea I was wondering the same thing. I tested mine and it's fine. So I don't wont to waste time taking it in if they aren't going to replace anything.

The failure mode has to do with long periods of ideling with your foot on the brake. Not exactly sure what the reflash does, but is supposed to keep it from locking the interlock.

Another question on the update. Now that you can drag and drop icons to the bottom of your screen and change the locations of most of them, not the center one unfortunately. Has anyone figured out how to move something out of the bottom of the screen? I can get stuff to replace what’s there and you can add more. I added one more then I really wanted down there but I can not figure out how to get to the original number of icons.

Drag it out of the bottom.
I really wish they would of gave me camera controls. Ours finally updated and it seems mostly trivial and useless. Probably mostly bluetooth support.

Maybe there’s a technique to it that I’m not doing quite right. Long presses on my icons just send you to that page. Pulling them down is easy, up doesn’t seem to want to cooperate.

did the recall. had them flash the tranny as well due to horrible downshifts 3-2 and 2-1. did the 17.07 update myself. the recall had a bcm reflash as well. as for the ram box issue...well when they change the box for warp they keep the painted cover...and if they don't know what the f:"k they are doing you have to wait until they can get more double sided tape from the oem and then give them pointers on how it probably should be installed as to actually fix the issue you had originally, in this case the new box fixed one, the warp, as for the cover coming off there should be something a little more informative...fo the installer. tranny shift well now. never had an issue with the shifter but the parts are replaced. the 17.07 update I did myself and had no issues. with all of the module firmware shuffles, the only thing i had to reset was the horn on setting with lock feature.

Most 2500 Rambox covers will eventually fall off. The tape design is weak and only works on the 1500 boxes because they have retaining tabs in the corners to keep everything pressed together. In their infinite wisdom, Ram left the tabs off of the 2500 Rambox design. I’m amazed at how many I see flapping down the road and the owners don’t seem to notice.
I tried several epoxies and “plastic welders” to no avail, but good old fashioned super glue has worked great so far. Squirt a liberal amount between the cover and lid, clamp for a few hours and you’re good as new, sorta. Haven’t figured out how to straighten out the bowing yet, though. Mine still look tweeked and sit a half inch higher than the bedside. Thinking about attaching some kind of angle iron to the bottom side to see if it will straighten them out.

Do you have the RAM box organizer kit? I had to grind down the center dividers to get my boxes to close completely.
