Is anyone running TC-W3 2 stroke marine oil as an additive in their fuel. It is supposed to increase mileage and smooth out idling. Idk seems like snake oil too me. Anybody have any experience with this?

I use it with diesel kleen 2:1, one oz per gallon of fuel in my diesel truck. Helps lubricate parts with the low sulfur fuel now mandated by the US government.

Like SARdog said, that's a diesel thing. I did it on my 24 valve for the reason he listed. I only see it causing issues on a gas motor.

Fully aware of the diesel application but people are adding it to gas engines and making claims about hp, mpg increase. There is 50 pages on the LS forums talking about these claims as well as bobs the oil guy.

ive got some 2stroke dirtbikes and I put the unused premixed gas in my old 1996 Dakota so it wasn't creating a fire hazard sitting around my garage for weeks on end. it would always kick the check engine light on for a few days. didn't seem to make it run any better or worse. no way in hell would I put it in one of the newer gas vehicles with more sophisticated computers but that's just me. as sensitive as they are I bet every warning light would be going crazy

I did it for 3K miles of open highway and saw no changes what so ever. Total pain in the ass too. 1oz per five gallons of TC-W3

That's what I thought. There is a group on a Facebook power wagon page that are testing it out a say they are noticing a difference. Just a bunch of bull shit.

Yeah, I saw it. I tracked my mileage using GPS and measured out the oil with a graduated cylinder. I saw zero change in mileage over the same route driven the year prior at the same time (I replicated a known trip). I couldn't hear any audible changes either. What I did notice was the big pain my ass when I had to measure the shit out at every fillup and the mess left from dripping oil. However, I'm not saying it doesn't work. My truck only has 11k miles on it and it could be a benefit to a higher mileage vehicle. I'd rather pay for higher quality engine oil though.

Catalytic converters won't like that much...

I use it in my 07, and I have seen about 1mpg improvement. I have only been doing it for about 6 months. I have 112000 miles. It has not caused any negative effects.
