Snow tires - Nokian Hakkapeliitta LT2

I had the Nokians mounted on my '15 PW yesterday. They are sized 285/70R17 - no issues with fit (of course). I've got two winters and 30k miles on the Duratracs. They were acceptable in snow but not good. I live in NW Michigan and see 100-120" snow per year. A few years ago I took the plunge and mounted Nokians on my wife's car. These tires were a revelation. Hoping they are just as good on the PW.

Not much new snow on the roads yesterday. Went down an ice rutted two-track to check out an ice fishing spot. Tires did a good job - stayed in 2WD where I'd normally be in 4WD.

Anyone else running these on their truck?

I have never put a designated snow tire on my trucks, but always use them on my work van. They are amazing in comparison to even a real good snow rated AT. There is just no contest.

I thought they offered that tire in a 35"? Looks like it would have been a better fit!

Where at in NW Michigan?

I'm in the Traverse City area (Lake Ann).

Thought about 35s but decided on the smaller tires so there is less rotating mass. Figured that's better in the snow under braking. Also don't need as much clearance because a lot of the trails are inaccessible because of snow depth.

I am just across the pond from you. I get over that way periodically. Beautiful area.

Love mine. 315's. mine are studded. Second season. Ride tougher than my 37's but are e range and stopping distance on ice is worth it.
