Did I ever tell you how much I hate the CAD units?

If it's about Power Wagons, all generations, this is where it'll go. This is the original PWR Forum Power Wagon Technical Discussion Section. And this includes everything that doesn’t fit in any one of the other categories related to the truck goes here!

Did I ever tell you how much I hate the CAD units?

Of course I did.

I keep getting random uncommanded messages on the EVIC that a 4WD shift is in progress while driving around in 2H. Took it back to the dealer last month and they couldn't find anything, but that doesn't surprise me. Still doing it. Got to be something in the servo or it's position feedback (or wiring) since it's not showing a 4w lock light from the transfer case position sensor. Utterly useless POS.

I could probably figure it out eventually, but it's not my job, so back it goes.

I'm soooo glad I never traded my 3G wagon.

My truck does that from time to time too. Dealer couldn't replicate. I just ignore it.

Can you flip the shift fork and permanently engage it like the 2nd gens?

I ran the posi-lok on my second gen until I broke a couple, now it's just permanently engaged. I have broken half a dozen Dana 60 axle shafts, a driveshaft, and a r+p with no issues with the CAD on the Dana 60 once I permanently engaged it.

What exactly did you do to permanently egage it, as apposed to what the posilock does?

Can the guts of the cad be completely removed in favor of just one axle shaft? I suppose the electronics portion of it would have to be screwed with, though, to keep the dash lights working.

I just flipped the shift fork backwards so it holds the axle shaft collar enagaged regardless of cable position.
