Hood light/upper glovebox light

Post by 2010PWERWGN » Mon Nov 21, 2016 10:57 pm

Well I went to check under the hood a few nights ago and realized I couldn't see a thing. I didn't have a flashlight with me and thought it would be nice to have an under hood light. I thought back and remembered a recall on 2011 1500's that were shipped without a hood light but were supposed to have one so I found the part number and had my dealer order it. The kit includes a hood lamp, rivet for the lamp, wiring, two new hood liner pins and a upper glovebox lamp. On my 2010 the connectors were already there. The hood light connector is on the inner fender and the upper glovebox connector is attached to a block off plug in the upper left corner, just pop it out and plug the light and switch assembly in and pop it into the opening. On the hood light just pull the hood blanket down and install the light and wiring and plug it in. Two new clips for the blanket and your done. This is no replacement for a flashlight but it's better than nothing. The part number for the kit is CEC1M071AA. List price is about $20. Oh and don't install the glovebox light on a truck with no upper glovebox door.
