Thats right you mount it! i first came accross it back in june on a dirt bike ride, been wanting to go back there with the truck and do this to it ever since!

That's not cool.... Call the authorities to have it removed. Behavior like that is why so many of our off road places are getting closed.

Yeah sure they are gonna close the woods because i put my wheel on some cars hood, dont worry if it was still in half decent shape i wouldn't have messed with it but as you can see the thing as been absolutely trashed. And the fact that its been there for at least 6 months and nobody did anything about it.... i was thinking about who to call to get it removed, my buddy is dating a cop and gave her the serial number a few months ago to check and he said she couldn't care less. I'm actualy thinking natural ressources (fish and wildlife cops) would probably care more, although i probably will have to drag it out to the main dirt road myself so its in view from the regular crowd before the authorities care enough about it to have it removed.

That would be a good thing you could do to "help clean up the trail" to prevent more reason for closure. Pics of the drag when you do!

Sounds like a good idea to me, you got the truck to do it.

Oh and I would probably have done the same if I knew 100% it wasn't stolen or that it was used in a crime and dumped.

Contact the state or federal agency that manages the land. They probably won't help get it off the trail, but if you can get it to the road they will likely help get rid of it. A 4x4 club up here in Alaska did something similar with 2 trucks left on state land last year.

In my neck of the woods. That car would have been shot to hell and back. Along with every nut, bolt, screw, and anything else that could be removed. Just leaving the shell in about 2 months time.

I found an abandoned car on a Toy's for Tots run last year in my Jeep in Las Vegas. We called the local LEOs and they asked us to drag it to the trail head,because they couldn't get to it. They came and got the VIN and found out later that that vehicle was Evidence in a murder investigation. So do the right thing...

I once found a new Lincoln stuck in the mud years ago, needless to say it was stolen... lol

Instant Karma alert--- I shot at an old beat to hell car (that was already shot up) I found in the woods, when i was a kid of about 13. Instant Karma. It was an old bonnie & clyde looking car. I shot at the fender & instantly felt fire in my leg !!! Yup, had to limp home & tell dad the news I shot an old car & it was so solid that my #8 birdshot ricocheted off & hit me in the leg. My dad laughed his ass off but still took me to the hospital where they picked it out. I think that hurt worse. Dr. said i was lucky it did not shatter bone.

That was a leason that you will never forget! That's like shooting at a tire still mounted on a rim with air pressure still in it with a 9mm pistol. And hearing the bullets come whizzing past your head.

Had an abandoned Chevy ruin a day for us this summer. Stuck in a snow bank, blocking the trail. Had to backtrack 5 hours. Sucked. Considered winching it out of the way or just pushing it off the cliff. (kidding, we actually thought we could get around but might tag it with the PW and it would have rolled for sure.) 80s half ton, no winch, bald tires. Lift and LEDs though

Not uncommon to find people who got over their heads and gave up before the rolled off a shelf road. Rescued a F250 a few years ago, guys friends had taken him to camp on quads, when they saw we had winches, they road back with us and winched his truck off a cliff.

When I lived in Alberta it was new luxo utes burned or beat to crap and abandoned in McLean Creek and NW of Cochrane. Usually shot to hell too, (guessing to hide legitimate gun shots.) Definitely feel a lot safer in Colorado than in Canada.

How many times do I have to say...no PW envy, if I wanted on I would have one. I like my 20mpg diesel just fine.

25% better mileage and spend 20% more expensive fuel, more fuel filter replacements, and more expensive oil changes, sounds like wash. Now if you are towing, I can see advantages to diesel. However I tow my 2nd gen with my PW, so gasser is ok. Work we have diesels, but they really don't save any money, just more power towing 15k lb trailers.

I for sure miss my diesel mileage. I totally disagree that the diesel cost is a wash compared to a power wagon. Next to a normal truck this may be, but PW's drown themselves in gasoline. My mileage after the Big Bear run was 8mpg after 200 miles. Either of my Cummins would have at least 13-14. My daily commute gives me 12mpg mostly highway, where my cummins gave me 20 and 17. On one trip to the. Roth Rim of the Grand Canyon we all piled in my truck and made it from Los Angeles to the Grand Canyon through Vegas and back home on one tank in my 2001 - that's around 25mpg. Our diesel is about $0.30 cheaper here than premium gas as well. I feel the sting every single week. Fuel cost is a serious part of my budget. Even an oil change is more expensive with the gasser - I run amsoil with the PW, but I ran Delo 400 Dino oil on the cummins. Oil change cost is almost double with the PW due to oil cost and change interval. I only run Amsoil because this engine has been beat and I want it to last. It ticks enough on random occasions already

I saw this in the woods last December 13th - usually it would have been 1/2 buried in snow by then; I was walking but could have driven to it.

That's a leason you will NEVER forget. Shot the first time. Heard the bullet come back. My brother inlaw asked, "what was that?" I said, "I don't know." Shot the second time. The bullet was even closer coming back. We both looked at each other, and about crapped our pants. That's when we both realized what was happening. Time to pick a new target. My brother inlaw used to work at a junk yard, back in the '70's. We used to go back to the rear of the yard and shoot cars. I know about how many car doors different calipers of bullets will go through.

I usually laugh and take pictures.

Yeah if you drag it out to where it's visible to hikers and bikers, it'll get removed. For some reason that usually gets a mess cleaned up pretty quick. Those people in charge of the land don't want to hear complaints every day about a trashed vehicle ruining the view for those enjoying the outdoors. Like the old saying goes, "out of sight, out of mind" and the fact is, most law enforcement lacks the resources to get back in the woods and drag a car out unless they can get a wrecker in to it. Even if they have 4x4 trucks, they'd get hung if they risked damaging a department vehicle trying to pull a junk car out of the woods.
