My truck is confused as to whether its in 4 hi or 4lo or 2wd. I know what it's in....but the truck doesn't. I plan on swapping the sending unit on the top of the case and wonder if it's something i should wait for the dealer to get or just grab one on Amazon.
Any experience with crappy parts from either ?

My '05 is doing the same thing. Started last month when I locked both axles in 4-lo, and now the truck thinks it's always in 4WD. The Amazon listing says it's "Genuine Chrysler." Does the collective wisdom here think that a new switch will solve the problem, or is there likely something else going on?

My truck started with the locker light blinking after about 10 miles of highway driving which lasted for a couple weeks until i got my lazy ass under the truck and unplugged the locker connections, sway bar connection, and t case sender connections. Problem solved ! and my genius status was obvious for all to see. Then.....it's in 4wd when it's in 2wd and not in 4wd when in 4wd. Genius status revoked....

I had the same issue, it was the t-case position sensor. Make sure to order the o-ring as well.

X2 on the position sensor. They go bad. Have replaced one out on mine and we did a trail repair on Bill's.
For the trail repair we needed oven gloves it was so hot under there.
The Amazon part is perfect. While your at it order two of the dorman selector bushing and change those out. They will fail you and then you won't be able to shift into 4hi or 4 low.
When replacing them male sure to lube them well as they are a bitch to get in.
