TPMS

Just installed Duratrac 315/70R17 tires on my less that a week old Powerwagon. The tires have a max. press. limit of 50psi where the orig. have 65. Is there a way other than going to the dealer to adjust the pressure on the TPMS system? One mechanic I talked to said he thought that there was a way in the EVIC to do it.

Thanks in advance,

Mike

Yeah, ugh. No luck man. Scroll the threads here. There was a dealer way to do it until F'umCA released a new version of their diagnostic s/w & locked out that feature. Finding a way to change TPMS thresholds & adjust the speedo is the holy grail right now for 14+ trucks...I need both, let us know if you can crack the code!!

I have a $200 programmer that adjusts the speedo. I am going by a dealer this week that said they could adjust the TPMS. We'll see.

I have an aev procal and they just released/updated instructions on this (if my older procal will work). You might be able to purchase it separately if you contact a aev dealer and ask for that specific part.

I tried, no joy. I called the AEV production plant in Michigan and asked if I can buy just the ProCal & they said it only comes with the AEV Prospector Ram. That was back in the early spring, so maybe they will sell it now.

Don't call aev. Call a dealer. Try northridge 4x4. It has a separate part number like all parts of the lift I bet. I don't have a prospector, it came with my lift in its own box. Tossed the box, but it had the part number on it...

I talked to Brian at Northridge 4x4 today & he said AEV won't sell the procal to them or anyone else unless you buy the entire suspension kit from them.

Totally sucks. I emailed AEV sales directly and the reply was "Our sales manager is currently pushing hard to get the powers that be to let us ell them individually. I'm sure it will happen but I don't have a time yet."

The funny thing is that they sell the Jeep procal separately. Seems like they are just throwing away some easy profit.

I think they will. But they didn't have a procedure for tpms when procal first came out. That's new in the past few weeks or month. So once they determined it was possible I bet that was the main barrier to going individual sale, don't want word getting out that it wasn't 100% capable before going to market. Still doesn't get you 100% of the way there but closer than anything else I guess.

Mine is from last year, wonder if it is only the new procals that can do this.

I'll try mine out when I switch back to snow tires. Nov or dec.

Thanks for all the replies. Funny that Dodge didn't put a way into the EVIC to do it. A simple change in rubber other that what came from the factory can make real trouble.

Don't blame dodge. This is a government / law suit / industry thing.
