Power Wagon Registry

Has anyone mounted a snow plow on their Power Wagon? I'm thinking of having a plow for my 2016 Power Wagon if I can get amount that doesn't detract from the the approach angle then the blade is not installed. Anyone have any experience with this?

I think one fellow did a plowing but the front springs will sag mighty deep with the plow in front.

There were a few over at the old joint. One guy had a plow front AND back. All red. He said it was unstoppable. I think another guy may have followed us over to here.

I don"t see a bracket configuration that wouldn't harm approach angle. I also believe any mount would be custom if you plan to keep the winch.

I spent the weekend driving a F450 4x4 dump truck plowing my town, and I couldn't help but think "This thing sucks. The PW is SO much better in the snow".

On the 3rd gens you have to Fab or modify the mount to keep the winch (shares the same mounting points).

I have seen a early 4th gen with a Boss on it that kept the winch but it made the truck useless with the mount hanging so low.

I would look at a Western if you do a plow, you can take receivers off and the frame is tucked up high (still lower than the bumper though).

And you will need some Timbrins as the springs are not meant to carry the weight.

thanks for the pointers guys. I did just find a gem of a video of a 2015 PW with Boss plow being tested at the RAM cold weather proving grounds. Looks like after all is said and done $$$-wise, and considering the wear factor on the truck, its best just to get a tractor for the plow work. Can never have too much John Deere green on the ranch.

A tractor is fantastic for snow removal; just so long as you don't need to drive too many miles and plow multiple locations.

There is a fellow in Vermont with 2011 PW with a Meyer's plow - do a search on plowsite.com - it looked like a pretty nice setup but I would be concerned if the 2014 and new PW have softer front springs...

The video I saw, the truck with the plow isn't a power wagon.

I was under the impression that you voided the warranty if you put a plow on it because of how much the plow sags the front end. I'll need to look that up again though. Just beware.

I know the 1 tons have a snow plow extra mount system that is a dealer installed piece. So that would not void warranties. And a lot of the diesels have what they call "snow plow mode". I'm not 100% on what it does but obviously Chrysler planned on some snow plow setups on their heavy duties. I just don't think it was planned for the pw.

This guy is correct. Any new 2500/3500 that does NOT have the plow/prep group with the owner running a plow will void the factory warranty. Most standard 2500/3500's ordered have them because it is a very inexpensive option, however that option is not available on the PW order sheet.

It could very well void some portions of the warranty, but it sure as hell cant simply void the entire warranty. If you bring your truck in cause the motor is knocking or the radio quit, they sure as heck cant blame it on the plow. Now, if your ball joints and wheels bearings are shot abnormally quickly or your front axleshaft joints are wobbly in 10K miles, yeah I dont think they are gonna warranty anything like that.
