Recovery mission

So the other night I got a phone call. My truck is what you would call a mall crawler, I never take it off road, I take total pride in it. I have a mud truck for that. Anyways, so there was a Tundra stuck about a mile down this logging (trail) they just cleared It wasnt raining when he went down there, when he got to the end the bottom fell out and he got buried. He called his buddy with a CTD mega cab. The CTD got stuck about a third of the way in. I mean BURIED. So then they called me, I couldnt leave them (and I wanted to know what I really got). I got down there and snatched the CTD out in teh same stuff he was stuck in. The CTD got stuck 2 more times trying to get back out, needless to say by the end I had to hook up top him and pull him all the way back the the paved road. I was back and forth about 10 times like It wasnt nothin, just puttin around lol. So then I wemnt all the way to the back and Got the tundra out no problem. After all that all I've got to say is WOW. I am really impressed with its capabilities. Its a beast, and now everyone agrees!!! (power wagons are rare around here, none of them knew what she truly was)

That is the greatest story I've heard in a long time. I love hearing these types of stories, where the PW comes to the rescue, and gets the recognition it deserves. We drive a rare breed, and I love all PW's.

The only way that would be better is if you had pulled out a Rapturd and a Stupid Duty.

LOL, That would have been great!!! Also, we all work at bridgestone/fireston, so naturally we all have the same tires, firestone destination MT's, and believe it or not we all purchased our tires within the last few months, so no advantage on tread for me lol

I was wondering what the tire differences were, as that makes a huge difference.

I spent 3 hrs yesterday, and 2 hrs today, just hosing mud out the underbody, I'm a clean freak, every nook and cranny. Then I moved it to my driveway and put it on jackstands. Tomorrow going to get all 4 turning slowley as I pressure wash tread and backsides of tires with cleaner (I'm a little to much of a clean freak). Then pressure wash under body with cleaner, then tackle the detail on outside

I hate to say it (well, not really), but I am just about as bad. A bit OCD I guess. It's not just the fact that it's a brand new vehicle with payments, because I used to OCD up my wheelers/beaters too hahah.
Out of curiosity, what kind of cleaner do you use with a pressure washer? Spill the beans!

It's not necessarily a bad thing to be OCD about that, especially when you do your own maintenance, it pays for itself instantly when you have to change the oil or do anything else on the underside. I've been wanting to make a heavy duty ramp that I can drive up and easily power wash the under side but haven't got the time.

When I was younger, I once put my car up on jack stands, pulled the wheels and washed it, just to get it clean enough to start detailing it. Then I went over every nook and cranny with a series of toothbrushes, before I polished and waxed it. I was nuts, but not any more. You, sir, are still nuts.

Me too, my 4wheeler and my mud truck Im just as bad! I use purple power on underbody, I use Suzuki Wash on tires(for aftermarket wheel purposes) also Suzuki wash in engine compartment and bedliner (for clearcoat purposes). If you have never used Suzuki wash, go to your local Suzuki dealer and treat yourself to abottle, best stuff on the planet and wont damage anything. I would use it everywhere, but purple power is a LOT cheaper

LMAO, My first truck was primer, like krylon primer, I mudded it EVERY weekend, and EVERY weekend I would pull tires off to clean backsides. ON A PRIMER 83 TOYOTA LOL. Never used more then one toothbrush though haha

Excellent these truck are amazing, the PW was engineered to be all about traction, the flexible suspension, the lockers, the swaybar disconnect, it all about keeping your tires on the ground and moving forward, then when all else fails, self-recovery with the winch!

If it gets bad, I put a rainbow sprinkler under it overnight and call it good. Hahaha

I was actually impressed, I cant give any rock hard testomonial. I'm used to boggers off road and thats about it. I dont have much experiance with any radial mud terrain, but they do last a while and ride good. They did it up the other night too!!

I love reading awesome Power Wagon recovery stories like this! Next gas pickup I am dead set on a Power Wagon to let my friends see what they can do when we go mudding.
