Things I have learned for 2016

1, the ideal tire size with max deflection and no rubbing is 285/75R17 (can vary by manu some) yes this has been talked about a lot on these forums
2, AEV has plans in the works for stuff for our Generation
3, before you buy rims, do a freaking ton of research (my understanding is, I would get AEV's to avoid the maths)
4, your winch can be adjusted up and down on the sides so it is square with the bumber.
5, bedrug is awesome, and does exactly what they say it does, hauled my steel targets around in it, and things didn't slide around or get torn up.
6, mpg is sometimes 20, if velocity is below 60mph it does well, moment it goes up, eco drops off. I am told this great economy is due to the cylinders conserving system (turns off 4 cylinders) as well as the front disconnect
7, nobody knows what it is! (no graphics at all on mine)
8, Dodge does not suggest using a leveling kit (not just a dealer but why it isn't in the catalog like it is for the earlier models)
9, Dodge does not have a lift at this time for our years.
10, Alpine makes an insanely sweet stereo that looks very impressive.
11, Bakflip HD works as advertised, just use the weird shims (I do not have the Rambox).
12, you can buy new seats from Dodge at your dealer if you desire, there is a large selection for colors and patterns.

I thought I'd miss my Raptor, but I am quite happy. Ignoring the eco mode, and hammer down at 75mph, it gets about 15.2 overall. The Raptor got around 14.5.

Let my buddy borrow it other night, he was impressed as well, he owns a shop that does off road work, threatened to steal my axles for his Jeep. My neighbor is really big in doing stuff offroad, has done some King of the Hammers stuff, he said ahh yes I see what you mean it is a Rubicon as a truck.

Hopefully in a year we'll see some sort of lift that Dodge swears off on, that'd be really awesome, I'd like 2 more inches and 37's.

AEV already has a lift for your truck. It will lift the front 3" and the back 2".

Did you get the tradesman, SLT or Laramie? Wheres the pics?!

Weird AEV said they do not, odd...

We got the Tradesman, this sounds tacky, but my wife flipped out when she saw the Power Wagon graphics. She said, no way am I riding in that with those on there. Since this is her vehicle I didn't argue.
I don't mind the graphics personally.

The tires came in yesterday, but only 3 showed up! The 4th FedEx left in Phoenix, doh! Hopefully I can get them on tomorrow, just absolutely love this truck.

Not sure how you're getting that kind of mileage. I can get maybe 16 on long free way trips at 65mph. Anything beyond that and I'm lucky to get 13mpg.

I'm guessing he is looking at instantaneous MPG. I tried out a 2015 Tradesman almost identical to that - it had a bar-graph style MPG read-out (instantaneous) and does also show average MPG. From the short 5 mile test drive; I could see 20 MPG instantaneous when I took my foot off the gas. Average MPG is much more realistic. Still, 15.2 mpg overall is very good. My overall average is somewhere below 12 and dropping with my 2004 3/4 ton (not PW).

Regarding the seats, I'm wondering if those dealer options were the Katskin seats? They would be a pretty nice upgrade to the standard Tradesman seat. My understanding is that Tradesman come with vinyl as standard; basic cloth or "work grade vinyl" as options. The "work grade" vinyl is actually a pretty nice seat; the premium cloth seat available on SLT (standard PW) is a good seat, and the Laramie leather is very, very nice. My 2004 leather seats still look great after 11+ years and 120,000 miles.

My personal hang-up with the Tradesman is the harsh, hard plastic inner door panels - although I do think those can be swapped out at Mopar Parts with the SLT (or Laramie) style if desired.

The AEV lift looks to be part of their "Prospector" package; no idea if they will sell the lift separate?

41,000$ They came down quite a bit, msrp for this one was 51k.

Yes, instantaneous is mostly of what I speak, if you can accelerate slowly, which is really freaking hard to do, the mileage these can achieve is quite impressive. But the moment that velocity gets over 55~60mph, it nose dives. If you watch on your dash you can see the Eco mode turn on, this mode around town is nuts good.

In my Cummins I had a few years back, it had this chart that showed as you went over 55mph how fast the mileage drops. The Coefficient of drag, axle ratio, transmission, blah blah all of it, hits hard in big heavy trucks. Air is our enemy, and as you increase in velocity, that pressure at the front of the vehicle is brutal.

Try going a slower route that has fewer stops, and the mileage, if you have one of the newer ones with the disconnect and cylinder turn off, you should see insane economy.

My Challenger 392, can, CAN C A N get 27mpg, but I have never done this on a tank. I usually get around 11 to 14, if that gives you any idea of what I am doing in it :)

Congrats on the new truck. Would you mind posting a shot of the new tires when you get them mounted. I'm debating 285/75 vs 315/70.

Sweet rig! They look nice either way. I was tripping on the length go the garage! Mine will goes in but if i stuffed mine in the garage i could only get the house by climbing the bed of truck.
And tire pic please getting close to making a decision on thuren stuff and 315 or control arms and 305 or stock 285
