Do you think ram will ever offer a power wagon single cab short bed like this concept? I want one like this so bad kinda makes me want to buy a 2500 or up and convert it to short bed.[img]

Honestly I feel that it's very unlikely... They haven't offered that configuration for six going on seven years

. Main Reason I will hold onto this truck forever LOL or at least until Northeast weather turns it into dust

What you could do is buy a standard cab chassis and buy the axles right from the mopar catalog and the skid plates from the dealer... For the sway bar disconnect buy Don Thurens. You may be able to find the winch bracket on Craigslist and buy the winch from Mopar as well. For springs you could go with Carli. You really could build your own power wagon if you had the coin and got the truck for a good price

That's something to ponder on I just might end up building up something like this.

the probability of offering it is pretty much zilch. that being said there was a guy with a white regular 2500 that stripped the axels and springs and put in pw axels and springs, then cut the bed to make it a short bed. pretty cool. might have been on DT.

Ya I always said if something ever happened to my rig I would buy another 3rd or even a 4th gen Ram 2500 standard cab and buy the Power Wagon axles... You could get both complete axles for $4500... If you do the math it actually almost comes out to the same price compared to re gearing the current ones and buying the lockers and then paying someone to do all the work etc etc. My way you have a Mopar warranty and just bolt them in anddd you have the old ones to sell to recoup money

Hell- I'm still pissed that we can't get an extended cab Ram with suicide doors on the back. If I could get an extended cab instead of a true four door, that would be the perfect setup for me. The only way to do that is to buy a Ford, and I don't see that happening anytime soon.

I am currently at a military school and my Dad is giving me his 2002 5.9 cummins, chipped, 4wd for a graduation present 7 more months of hell and I get my new pickup! It only has 28,000 miles on it since we only use it as a pulling rig. I am still goona keep my 3.7 liter magnum 2005 single cab short bed for a hunting rig. How would my new diesel do for offroading I live in Roswell, NM so the terrain is sometimes rocky, sandy, encounter some mud, hills, bad roads to get to where I hunt predators. What mods would be good?

That's a beautiful old Cummins - I had an '01.5...

Regarding off-roading - lockers, suspension and a winch.... Others will chime in with specifics I'm sure...

Nice old Cummins. The only advice I have about diesels is to stay away from mud!!!! It will sink so quick. But for offroading I would really consider what you're looking to do.
Light Offroading: A good 2-3" lift and some tires might just do you good.
Heavy Offroading: Buy a power wagon

Thanks for the info guys! My Dad currently has an 03 quad cab 4wd with 18,000 miles, and he is going to buy a diesel megacab so he has another diesel again. For a hunting truck I have always wanted a Power Wagon. I guess I will keep using my 2005 single cab, short bed for huntin for awhile then maybe sell it and save up for a Power Wagon since I will never sell my 02 cummins. I am so attached to all 3 of the pickups we have it's hard to figure out which ones to keep. If they would just make a single cab short bed power wagon it would be perfect. I love my old school short wheelbase truck though for offroading. I don't want to take my mint condition 02 cummins in the mesquite to much. I would just sell my 05 and get another single cab, short bed 4wd but they don't have the manual 4wd on the floor anymore sadly!

They have never made that configuration in any 3/4 ton. Power wagon or not.
