Does anyone know the correct warm part number for the wired remote for our trucks. I just bought a new to me PW and the remote is missing, on a side note I was amazed to see the cable still zip tied with no hook on it. I don't think this wagon has ever seen anything but pavement! That's all going to change

Here's a replacement if you just have to have the wired one, however I suggest getting a Warn wireless remote.

Dammit, I looked at that one after I got the warn and wondered why it wouldn't work.

When I bought my "new to me" power wagon, it didn't have a remote either an I was in such a hurry to get a remote I went on ebay an payed for a wired one. I was really disappointed when I found out I could have gotten a wireless one.

You should always have a wired controller as a back up. Call it cheap insurance - Murphy will make his unwanted appearance at the most unfortunate time.

This is perfect, I got a warn wireless as a Christmas gift and never got around to setting it up. Got it out about a week ago and it is the wrong one. I got on here to ask what the correct one is (I sold the other one today) and here is a thread with all the information

Completely agree!! I love my wireless, but with two boys, sometimes stuff goes missing!!

I talked to one of my buddies and he has a cheaper wireless and said his wired remote has a longer reach. How's that badlands distance? I know my Warn will reach from the end of the rope.

The one I made from a remote control I got off the net will work about 100 yards away......
This 4 circuit one is for the lights in my camping trailer, the winch remote is a two circuit one. The receiver plugs into the connector like a wired controller.

Isn't there a warn wireless without all that extra wiring and parts? I thought there was a true plug and play version out there that fits our winches? Is this it?

That one will work but the one I posted allows you to mount the receiver up higher under the hood and leave it plugged in. The only wires are from the plug to the receiver (plug and play)...That one, you can loose the receiver or need to plug it in each time.

Confirmed the Harbor freight remote works just fine. Range seems just as good too. I'm betting that it is another knockoff done by the same folks who build the one for Warn.

Should be able to use the winch with the hood down too! Kind of embarrassing doing recovery missions with the hood up. Always get the passer by asking if everything is ok with the truck. Hood up equals truck problems to most people.

I was always taught to put the hood up for safety when winching, to protect the other occupants that you want to stay in the truck for their safety.

Makes sense. Would ruin some stuff for sure if it lashed back at the truck. Kind of hard to see where you are going if doing a solo self recovery from inside the truck tho. Guess it would be better than a clevis hook in the face. Remote is ordered! HFT $50.03 S&H included.

Here the badland harbor freight el cheapo version is. Seems pretty substantial! I am assuming the green wire is to ground the receiver? Install instructions don't clarify. Anyone know for sure? Thanks in advance for any replies. horn.

Thanks cruz. plugged it in without attaching the receiver or green wire to ground just for kicks and got nothing. Just watched a video review and it is the antenna. Huh go figure. Next troubleshoot is new battery in remote.

Beginning to think this thing is a POS right out of the box. Either that or it is not compatible with our winches like someone here said previously. Tried my wired controller just to make sure the winch was still working. Check. New battery in remote. Check. Fuse good. Check. I would blow 50 bucks on something else and get the real deal from warn.

The problem is probably it is probably designed to work with the 3 wire Warn controllers and not the 5 wire the newer Warns like ours come with. Plug is the same but the internal wiring is slightly different.

I bet that green wire is the antenna.....LOL I just saw someone already answered.
