Out With The Old, In With The New?

I am really considering selling my 2005 regular cab Power Wagon, and buying a 2014 Power Wagon. I own my 2005 and it only has 40,000 miles on it. It has never let me down no matter what situation I have found myself in. I absolutely love my truck. Unfortunately I purchased it before I had children (now I have two amazing little boys). I had refused to get rid of it for many years, my boys are know five and eight. They rode around in it with me, in infant car seats and booster seats, sitting next to me for their entire lives. Now that they are getting older, we are going on more and more adventures. It has become somewhat of a nuisance for me to tow the camper, and my wife follow in her vehicle for lack of seating and seat belts.
My friend recently purchased a 2014 and let me look at it. I really don't like the graphics on the exterior, to me it screams "Look at me!" like I am one of those Ford Raptor maniacs. I know what the Power Wagon is and capable of, I don't need the loud graphics. Other than that I am really impressed.
So, I am interested in hearing about the 2014 Power Wagon from real owners. What are the good and bad things about it? Am I crazy to get rid of my 2005 with so few miles on it, and just keep making do with the seating arrangements? If I were to sell it, what price should I consider listing it at ( I have not seen many 2005 regular cabs out there)?
Does anyone know how I can find out how many 2005 regular cab Power Wagons were made?
The only aftermarket modifications I have made are a Linex bed spray, and electric fold down steps when the doors are opened.
The only damage is a small dent in the front bumper, and small dent in the hood, and a small dent on the top of the tail gate.
Thanks

DON'T DO IT !
In all seriousness, " IF " you can afford it, and have enough room, keep the '05 and get another one.
The registry is probably the only place to find out how many were made, though it probably won't be the definitive answer ...

A single cab long box Power Wagon with 40,000 miles is the Holy Grail! I'd love to have one parked next to my 2012! If you can keep it and get something else I would suggest going that route.

I think we are all having the same dream, having both. I doubt he would be asking if both was an option.
So, I vote for both too
I have about 3500 miles on my new '15. My last truck was an '06 Big Horn quad cab short box 2500 with a Hemi and six speed manual. My PW wannabe. My PW is the Tradesman version that comes sans most of the stickers, just the tailgate one. For now I have left it because people seem to get a kick out of seeing it is a PW. You can easily remove the big graphics, not sure about the red grille inserts but certainly they could be toned down with painting. The SLT PW is pretty dang nice, I drove one of those too. Probably too nice for as dirty as I get it sometimes, and beyond my budget anyway. The Tradesman comes with more equipment than my old truck, unless you count fake wood as a plus. I love the rear view camera for trailer hitching, awesome! The 6.4 flat smokes my old 5.7 and it gets about 3 mpg better. The transmission is confused, some of the nannies are annoying but I still love this truck. It rides sooooooo much better than my old truck, the back seat is HUGE. I could ramble for a while....
Get the new truck, load the family in, the way it should be for a road trip. You will find a good new home for the old truck, probably meet someone interesting in the process. My ball park on the old truck is probably in the $25k range. I bet you could get that if you held out a little. Pretty rare rig but I wouldn't bet on huge money for it.
Good Luck

Oh, and some Power Wagon picture protocol.... No more of those PW on pavement pictures, almost had to go wash my eyes out son
So for future reference, and I know you have these sort of pics...
Power Wagon at work...
Power Wagon at play...

You dont see any becuase there werent many lol. No way in hell would i give up my 3rd gen standard cab wagon for a new one andI have 172,000 miles hahahhahH. Maybe when this thing turns to dust i would consider a new one. You have 40,000? I would keep it. Not trying to start a flame war but its generally been said the 3rd gen wagons were the most capable of all... We dont have the electronic non sense... And we are lighter and smaller.

Tr1980 dont sell. You're going to have to finance the new truck anyway and you won't get as much as you think trading it in. Just keep it. You owe nothing and it ones you nothing. If you do then some punk will buy it and make it a low rider. And then we will have to eliminate him. Please save that kids life and don't sell.....

Thats one rare rig right there. Apples and oranges..... but I came from a 2003 club cab LB 4x4 hemi w mild carli stuff and the 13 PW is a WAY better better for wife, daughter and small dog. The improved interior space and nice ride quality (not a suburban nice though) is a deal breaker. Unfortunately,I use the interior space and creature comforts more than I use the lockers. BUT, the beauty of the 13 is i can use them both w family on board!
If you can swing a new truck payment w/o letting go of that beautiful low mi original owner rig I say keep it. I bet one of those boys would be proud to own dads old truck. My 11 year old daughter talks about the old white truck and how that should have been hers probably once a week.
Heck go grab a mid size ford transit and beat the piss out of it while doing the family thing.
When you and the wife retire and the kids are off to school or whatever, you slide in a four wheel or outfitter type camper in the back of that sick rig and you are the F ing man!

No way in heck I would trade that gorgeous 2005 for a 2015!!!!! Heck, I have a 2012 and I'm jealous of your 2005!!!! Is the 2005 a stick shift?
On the subject of the graphics on the new truck- only the SLT gets the full graphics, so it is very easy to get a new Power Wagon sans graphics.
I would vote for both if you can swing it! That regular cab is fantastic!!!!!!

Just curious-what happened to the PW wheels? Do you have them?

Don't sell it. You'll live to regret it.
You should be able to get a good deal on a new 1500 diesel to pull the camper. The engine is a winner, I have it in my jeep.
Keep both!

Glad to see you joined. That house in the background looks familiar. Figured most would say keep it. Buying a new one to tow the camper and haul everyone is the ticket. It would be cool to keep but it's not like you would want to tow the camper with a new diesel and have her drive the pw to wheel. Then you have the same issue. Get a new pw, if you can keep it, do so. If not, sale it and hold out for the value of the truck. I am sure it is close to worth 20k

If I wasn't building a house, I'd buy it from you without hesitation. I have a 10 but would love to have a single cab also. I wish they still made singles.

I've seen it up close since 05, I don't think I have ever seen it dirty. It is an immaculate truck
