Am I the only one who likes the "work truck" look better?

So I have an 05 Wagon and I love the way it looks (and performs of course). Just a truck that looks like it gets the job done. No chrome, nothing flashy a little lift with some 35s. Gets stuff done you know? Well the miles are getting up there and we're looking at a 15, and I tell ya, Laramie's look real nice, although I would prefer them without chrome. I really liked the 2010 Power wagon graphics package and stuff, I just do not like the flames on the new ones at all (its a bit much for me). Anyone got a 14 or 15 with not alot of chrome or flames on it? I can't be the only one who likes this in a truck haha.

What you are looking for is the tradesman model then. As long as you dont need all the fancy jazz inside.
The tradesman does not have the side graphics. Just the tailgate one.

Here is the tradesman model...

You also have a graphics delete option when ordering with the SLT.

Buy the Laramie and then either swap out the grill with a tradesman, or you could have the grill or the bumpers coated in Line-X. I like the work truck look too, so I made everything that was chrome on my 2012 go away with the exception of the stock wheels. Here's how my truck sits today.

Yeah I kinda agree. When I first started getting serious about buying a new one, I really wanted the laramie interior without all the exterior chrome and painted flares. But that is not an option. Hell you cant even get a loaded SLT with leather anymore. Now after looking at them for the last year, the laramie exterior is starting to grow on me.
By the sounds of it your best bet, like 04 stated, is to get the laramie and swap out the exterior chrome stuff. Its not very feasible to add all the interior goodies after the fact... but swapping exterior chrome pieces for painted ones (or covering with paint) is really quite easy. Or, if you dont want the laramie interior, get the SLT with the graphics deleted and have the chrome tailgate badge installed. Done.

I seem to do just fine without a bunch of extra toys on the truck. For as much dirt as it will see I wish it had the rubber floor. I love the back-up cam and have NAV on the phone if need be. To me the Tradesman with the comfort pack has everything I need save some elbow padding on the door panels. We drove an SLT stickered at 57k with the sunroof. Sweet truck but there was a bunch of stuff that just wasn't worth paying extra for. I LOVE tat they offer it in a Tradesman trim, just wish a manual trans was standard.
Lots of ways to tone down that grille, which I think is... too much. If you want leather and the goodies, get the Laramie and paint or replace the grille.

Hell even having it available would be nice! Kinda dumb on Rams part if you ask me.
And nice truck!

Just get the Laramie and have to dealer remove the chrome trim and decals you don't want and replace the grille. Surely if a dealer is wanting your business they'll do that for little or no extra fee when you get it.

Graphics are pretty easy to remove... :dunno
I would focus more on the bigger, more expensive, higher-priority things like interior features and options rather than the way it looks.
But yeah, i'm with you on the "plain" look... not a fan of the "LOOK AT MEEEEEE!!!!" graphics... (Seen some of the clown-barf stuff that's popular in motocross?

)

Snowsled -
I'm with you on wanting better padding for your elbow on the door panels. I had a GM full size van with the harsh hard plastic inner door panels - it was so bad I couldn't even drive it with short sleeve shirt. On the standard cab tradesman they offer a padded inner door panel as part of one of the packages; not sure why you can only get the hard plastic on crew cab tradesman. If you want, I'm pretty sure you can order new inner door panel (padded armrest) from Mopar parts at any dealer. Not sure on price but I'm guessing $300-$400 or so for each door.
If someone is ordering a new Tradesman, I believe you can get the "work grade vinyl" seats for about $200 or so. I saw those seats in a standard cab 3500 tradesman - they are pretty nice. The SLT premium seats are pretty nice for cloth seats (pretty sure you do get padded arm rests on inner door panels on the SLT). The Laramie leather seats are very, very nice.

How many miles? I just hit 135k on my 05 and am thinking about keeping it until at least the 200k mark.

I ordered my 15 SLT with the graphic delete... I then added the Power Wagon Emblem that comes on the Laramie truck for $50... I'm thinking about doing lineX on my grill and bumpers on down the road but like how it flows with the wheels and 37's for now...

I wanted a tradesman but had to have the integrated brake controller, dual alternators, and tow mirrors. Couldn't find anything already built in tradesman trim with those items so I got an SLT that had everything I wanted as well as a bunch of stuff I didn't need like heated seats, 8.4 radio, etc. Everything is a compromise I guess.
Anyway, what I did to make it look less flashy was remove all the stickers and add "2500 Heavy Duty" emblems to the doors (like the tradesman) and the "Power Wagon" emblem that comes on the back of the Laramie. Otherwise, the only chrome left on the truck is the grill and bumpers. I plasti dipped the grill inserts black. Let me know if you want pics.

I went Tradesman. Question is, what options do you want? You can go without the decals pretty easily in any package, but can't get a lot of options like leather on a Tradesman. I used the delete badging option when i ordered mine, and then had the dealer remove every stick on badge (2500 HD, Hemi, 4x4, etc...) except the rams head in the center of the grill and tailgate. They charged me $50 to remove them all. Only thing i have changed now is wheels/tires/lugs. I am on the fence about getting the bumpers painted or coated. I might try plastidipping them to see if I want to actually spend the money on a permanent coating.

I removed my own graphics. Its easy to do. It is an option to get the delete package though. I left the one on the hood and tailgate. I might tone down the grill, haven't decided yet if it is too much.

Fingernails to start and the graphics pull right off. Have to work a bit with acetone to get the glue off, but it only took me about 2 hrs.

That's a nice looking truck!
My truck came from Dennis Dillon Dodge too. They were super easy to work with!

Thanks. Yes, Dennis Dillon was a very good experience for me. Best price I could find in the continental US by almost 8%. They put in a factory remote start and spray in bed liner and picked me up at the airport. 2 hours later I was on my way home with the truck at the price they quoted me a month earlier.
I only have 1800 miles on it but these Power Wagons are special vehicles. My only wish is that they still came with the 4.56 gears and 35s from the factory.
