That's all fine till you try to sell/trade it in. Lot's of wishful thinking in that graph.
There is new one 2016 larmie listed not too far from me for $44k. http://autos.oregonlive.com/detail/make ... 1441431251
That looks like a great deal in Dillon. I've heard of lots of people buying new trucks for more than $10k below MSRP, but haven't heard of any that picked theirs up for more than $10k below dealer invoice like that one. (not saying it hasn't happened). My dealer here in NY can't keep Power Wagons on the lot for more than a week - he sells more than a dozen new ones a year...

$39k for brand new tradesman. Steve White is always selling these for under 40k.

Wow, my 15' was 47k OTD with 3,300 miles on the clock. Spotless dealer show vehicle, nearly fully loaded, and true blue with graphics (a very difficult combination to find)! The dealer really didn't know anything about the PW, and they specialize in off-road trucks.. literally, custom lifted and fleet trucks are all they sold. They had a black one as well for 44k with 19,000 miles which was near mint, really surprising, but there is no way I could own a black vehicle. Overall, glancing at the production numbers, I can see why dealers want a premium or rarely can produce any information on them.

I bought my '16 Power Wagon in September for $51K after all discounts. I received a trade in price of $47K for it from the same dealer I bought it from, and will be trading it in on a Cummins 3500 when it gets here in about August. So I lost $4K in one year's ownership. I can live with that.

That's a nice price for a 2017....I doubt very much that 2014's are still selling for 42k privately ....but YMMV

They certainly aren't worth what WE think(know) they are, are they? To most people, a truck is a truck...

True...

But actually, the Power Wagons had a better known reputation many years ago - after being used in the military and on farms. Back more than 30 years ago, everyone knew what a Power Wagon was - an indestructible, go anywhere beast. :patriot:

It's been 2 years since I updated this thread - but I've still tracked and plotted the truck NADA value each month since January 2015 when it first showed a used value.
Power Wagon Value History.jpg
My dealer keeps checking in with me to do a trade on a brand new PW. If they still made a loaded version with silver polished aluminum wheels and all the chrome I'd probably go for it. Otherwise I'll just wait out the blacked out fad.

All the crap about vehicles losing so much value when you drive them off the lot - didn't seem to happen with this Power Wagon... A new vehicle is never worth the MSRP - it's worth what you pay for it at time of sale :D

It is very interesting what the COVID shortages did to used vehicle values...

I've tracked my truck value since I purchased it

Nice job keeping that data.
I bought my 19 PW brand new at the end of 2019 for about 20% below MSRP. I’m fairly certain I could trade it in today for more than original MSRP
